Configure Drupal Two-factor Authentication (Google-Authentication)

Two Factor Authentication (TFA) is highly secure and easy to setup for your Drupal 7 and Drupal 8 Site. miniOrange Two-factor Authentication (TFA) adds a second layer of security to your Drupal accounts. It protects your site from hacks and unauthorized login attempts.

Step 1: Install miniOrange 2-Factor Authentication module

  • Download the Drupal 2FA module.
  • On your Drupal console go to Extend/Modules Install new module.
  • Drupal 2FA install new module
  • Browse and choose the downloaded zip then click on Install button.

  • Click on Enable newly added modules link.
  • Drupal 2FA enable new module
  • Scroll down till you find miniOrange Two-Factor Authentication. Click on the checkbox next to it and click on the Install button to enable the module.

  • Now next click on Configuration option from the nevigation bar and select miniOrange Two Factor Authentication.

Step 2: Configure miniOrange 2-Factor module

  • Register/Login with MiniOrange.
  • Drupal 2FA registration
  • Click on Setup Two-Factor tab. Select any Two-Factor of your choice and complete its setup by clicking on Configure link.

  • You can Test your configured Two Factor (2FA) in module by clicking on Test link and can Re-configure by clicking on Re-configure link.

Step 3: Try login using miniOrange 2-Factor module

  • Once your 2-factor setup is complete, when you login next time you will be asked to authenticate your identity using selected Two Factor (2FA) method.
