Guide to Setup Meetup as OAuth Provider



If you want users to login to your WordPress site using their Meetup credentials, you can simply do it using our WP OAuth Client plugin. Once you configure the Meetup with WordPress plugin, you can allow users to SSO to your WordPress site using Meetup. Similarly, you can map your WordPress roles based on your Meetup attributes/groups. To know more about other features we provide in WP OAuth Client plugin, you can click here.
Please follow the steps given below to configure your Meetup account with WordPress and setup the Single Sign On.

Guide to configure Meetup with WordPress :

  • First of all, go to https://secure.meetup.com/meetup_api/oauth_consumers/ and sign up/login.

  • Click on Create New Consumer to create a new applicationt.(refer to image below).

  • Enter the name you want for your application under the Consumer Name field.
  • Add Callback/Redirect URI from miniOrange OAuth Client plugin under Redirect URI field and click on Register Consumer to create a new consumer.

  • It will show the page with all your registered consumer applications.

  • Copy your Key and Secret and paste it on your miniOrange OAuth Client plugin Configuration under Client Id and Client Secret field.

  • You have Successfully completed your Meetup OAuth Server Side Configuration.

    Client ID :  from the step 3 above
    Client Secret :  from the step 3 above
    Scope:   basic
    Authorize Endpoint: https://secure.meetup.com/oauth2/authorize
    Access Token Endpoint: https://secure.meetup.com/oauth2/access
    Get User Info Endpoint: https://api.meetup.com/members/self
