How to Setup OTP Verification for Buddypress/BuddyBoss Registration Form?

• Download our miniOrange OTP Verification plugin and BuddyPress plugin on your WordPress website.

Getting started with the setup

Let's explore how to setup BuddyPress/BuddyBoss Registration form for the OTP Verification plugin.

1. OTP Verification on Buddypress/BuddyBoss Registration Form

You can verify the Users through the Phone or Email verification method.

• Go to the Forms tab in the OTP Verification plugin, then search and select BuddyPress/BuddyBoss Registration Form from the list.

• Select this checkbox to enable the BuddyPress/BuddyBoss Registration Form.

• Enable Phone Verification and click on Click here to see your list of forms.

• Click on Add New Field button to add a Phone field if it doesn't already exist.

• Enter the Name and Description of your New Field. Make sure to remember the name of the field you added.

• Make sure to keep the visibility option set to Everyone. Then click on Save button to save your new field.

• Drag and drop the field you added to the signup field.

• Now go to the Forms Settings page and enter the Name of Phone field.
• To prevent users from using the same phone number across multiple accounts, select the checkbox 'Do not allow users to use the same phone number for multiple accounts'.
• Then, click on the Save Settings button.

• Go to your BuddyPress/BuddyBoss Registration form page.
• You should see your newly added field on the BuddyPress Registration Page.

• Fill all fields of the form and click on Complete Sign Up button.

• The customer will be successfully registered to their account by selecting any one of the following methods.

• You have successfully created your account! To begin using this site you will need to activate your account via the email we have just sent to your address.

• Enable the radio button for Email Verification.
• Then, click on the Save Settings button.

• Go to your BuddyPress/BuddyBoss form page, fill all the required field and click on Complete Sign Up button.
• Users will be shown a pop-up to verify, and an OTP will be sent to their phone number.
• Enter the OTP and click on the Validate OTP button.

• You have successfully created your account! To begin using this site you will need to activate your account via the email we have just sent to your address.

2. Let the User Choose option

In this setting, during registration, the user will see both Phone Verification and Email Verification options and can choose either method to complete the verification.

• Enable the radio button for option ‘Let the User Choose’.
• click on Click here to see your list of forms.

• Click on Add New Field button to add a Phone field if it doesn't already exist.

• Enter the Name and Description of your New Field. Make sure to remember the name of the field you added.

• Make sure to keep the visibility option set to Everyone. Then click on Save button to save your new field.

• Drag and drop the field you added to the signup field.

• Now go to the Forms Settings page and enter the Name of Phone field.

3. Automatically activate users

If you enable this setting, users will not receive an activation email and will be automatically activated on your site.

• Enable the Automatically users after verification.
• Then, click on the Save Settings button.
