Guide to enable miniOrange OAuth Server for Joomla


miniOrange Joomla OAuth Server plugin supports Rocket.chat, Invision Community and other custom OAuth and OpenID Connect client applications. OAuth Server plugin works with any OAuth client that conforms to the OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect 1.0 standard. This plugin allows user to Login with Joomla.

Pre-requisites : Download And Installation


  • Log into your Joomla instance as an admin.
  • Go to the Joomla Dashboard -> Extensions -> Manage and click on Install.
  • Seach for a Joomla OAuth Server plugin and click on Install Now.

Steps to Configure Joomla OAuth Server

1. Download and install miniOrange OAuth Server

  • Download the plugin zip file.
  • Login as administrator in Joomla.
  • Go to ExtensionsManageInstall.
  •  Joomla OAuth Server

    Here you have three options to choose from to install your extension. In most cases, you should go with the 'Upload Package File' option. The three options are:

    • Upload Package File
    • Install from Directory
    • Install from URL
    •  Joomla OAuth Server
  • Choose miniOrange Joomla plugin file to install.
  • Install the plugin.
  • In the Joomla admin interface, go to ExtensionsManageManage. Here you can enable and disable Joomla plugins and edit plugin details and options. It is also useful for quickly enabling or disabling multiple plugins at the same time.
  • Search for miniOrange in plugins and enable all the extensions of the plugin.

2. Configure Joomla OAuth Server

  • Go to ComponentsminiOrange OAuth ServerConfigure OAuth. Click on ADD to add the client.
  • Unable to load image
  • Fill the required fields. Client Name (can't change once configured) and Authorized Redirect URI then click on Save Client( you could get from client )
  • Unable to load image
  • Go to Configure Client. Fill the details (Scopes: email, profile) in the client plugin.
  • Unable to load image
