How to prevent OTP Spam through Limit OTP Addon?

Overview

Limit OTP Request Addon works on limiting malicious users or unwanted OTP requests to be made by blocking the user for the time limit set in the premium addon. The purpose of this guide is to configure Limit OTP Request Addon.

Configuration Steps

Follow the steps to configure Limit OTP Request Addon

• Click on the OTP Verification plugin from the left side menu.



• Go to the Addons tab.
• You can see for all OTP Verification Addons.
• From that select the Limit OTP Request Addon and click on the Settings button.

• You will redirect to the OTP Spam Preventer page.

Step 1: Block Users form resending OTPs for a set time.

• Enable this checkbox to "Block users from resending OTPs for a set time".
• You can set the Time for blocking users to resend the OTP. Resend OTP option will be disabled for the set time limit.
• After that click on the Save Settings button.

• Upon clicking the Save Settings button, the user will be temporarily blocked from resending the OTP on the on-page for the set time duration.



• The pop-up that appears for verification after registration will temporarily prevent the user from resending the OTP for the set time period. See the below example.

• Note: You can activate both of the above-mentioned settings simultaneously.

Step 2: Block User after particular number of OTP attempts

• Enable this checkbox to Block User after particular number of OTP attempts".
• You can set a limit on the number of OTP Resend attempts. User will be blocked after the set limit for OTP Resend attempts.
• You can also set time limit for which the user will be blocked.
• After that click on the Save Settings button.

• Go to your form and fill in all the require field.
• Then click on the Send OTP button.
• After a user tries to enter the OTP on the on-page, they will be unable to resend the OTP for a specified period of time.

• After the user tries to enter the OTP on the pop-up that appears for verification after registration, they will not be able to resend the OTP for a specified period of time. See the below example.
