Step 1 – How to Upgrade to 2FA Basic plugin?

• Go to the miniOrange 2-Factor plugin and click on Upgrade plans or See Plans and Pricing button.


• You will be redirected to the pricing page, now again click on the Upgrade button in the Basic plan.


• It will redirect you to the miniOrange console. Enter the credentials to log into your miniOrange account
• Now, select the license plan from the dropdown and fill in all the necessary details.


• Then click on Pay Now button.


• Click on the Releases and Download.


• Click on Download Plugin to download the plugin.



Step 2 – Installing the 2FA Basic plugin from the WordPress Dashboard.

• Deactivate on Free miniOrange 2-Factor Authentication(2FA) plugin from the WordPress Dashboard.


• Delete the miniOrange 2-Factor Authentication(2FA) plugin.


• Click on Add New plugin.


• Click on Upload Plugin.


• Click on Choose File and choose the zip file of the miniOrange 2FA Basic plugin which you have downloaded in the earlier steps and click on Install Now button.


• Click on Activate Plugin button. It will activate the miniOrange 2-factor Authentication Basic plugin.


• Then click the miniOrange 2-Factor on the WordPress Menu bar.


• Click on the Account Setup button in the navigation bar.
• Click on the Already registered with miniOrange account button.


• You will need to log in with your miniOrange credentials to activate the license.
• Enter your miniOrange credentials and click on the Submit button.


• Your license will be successfully activated.



Step 3 – Two-Factor Setup by Admin.

• Click on the Setup Two Factor button .
• Now you can configure any method available in the plugin dashboard.


• Click on the radio button of the Google Authenticator method.


• Here, you can select your phone type.
• Scan the QR code with your Google Authenticator mobile app to set up Google Authenticator .


• You will be prompted to enter the code generated by the app. Enter the 6-digit code and click Verify and Save button.


• The Google Authenticator has been successfully set up as a 2nd-factor method and you can now click on the Click Here button to test the method.

• Enter the six-digit code from the Google Authenticator mobile app and click on the Validate OTP button.


• On the login page, enter your WordPress credentials and click on login button.


• For every login, you need to enter the security code shown in the authenticator app and click on the Validate button to log in to the site.



Step 4 – Two-Factor Setup by User.

• After the Basic plugin has been installed, when the user tries to log in, the user will be entering his/her WordPress username and password.


• The user will be prompted to enter his/her Email ID.
• Enter your Email id and click on the Get Started button.


• The user will get OTP on the email entered. Enter OTP in the provided field and click on Verify Code.


• After Successful OTP verification, The user will get a prompt to select two-factor method. Select the radio button corresponding to OTP Over SMS method.


• Now first, the user will enter his/her phone number and click on the Send OTP button.


• The user will enter the One Time Password that he/she must have received on the registered mobile number. Now click on the Verify Code button.

• After the OTP verification, user will be asked to set up KBA ​as his/her backup method.


• The setup has been done successfully. miniOrange also provides backup codes to get back to your account, in case you are locked out and can’t access your website. You can use those backup codes to get back to your WordPress account.
• Click the Finish button.
