Configure Drupal Two-factor Authentication ( LastPass Authenticator )


Setup LastPass Authenticator with Drupal module. This guide will help you to configure LastPass Authenticator as Two Factor Authentication( 2FA ) method for the Drupal site. Drupal 2FA module will add a second layer of authentication to your Drupal account to increase the security of your site from unwanted hacks and unauthorized login attempts.
The Google Authenticator / 2 Factor Authentication - 2FA moduleĀ is available for Drupal 7, Drupal 8 and Drupal 9. The upcoming major Drupal releases i.e. Drupal 10 will also be supported.

Pre-requisite: Download and Installation 


  • For Windows:
    composer require drupal/miniorange_2fa
  • For Linux:
    composer require 'drupal/miniorange_2fa'
  • Go to Extend menu on your Drupal admin console and enable the module by checking the checkbox and click on Install button.
  • Configure the module at
    {BaseURL}/admin/config/people/miniorange_2fa/customer_setup
  • Download the module:
    drush dl miniorange_2fa
  • Install the module:
    drush en miniorange_2fa
  • Clear the cache:
     drush cr
  • Configure the module at
    {BaseURL}/admin/config/people/miniorange_2fa/customer_setup
  • Navigate to Extend menu on your Drupal admin console and click on Install new module.
  • Install the Drupal Two Factor Authentication / Passwordless login module either by downloading the zip or from the URL of the package (tar/zip).
  • Click on Enable newly added modules.
  • Enable this module by checking the checkbox and click on Install button.
  • Configure the module at
    {BaseURL}/admin/config/people/miniorange_2fa/customer_setup

Steps to configure Scan the QR code LastPass Authenticator login method with Drupal Two-Factor Authentication ( 2FA ) module:

1. Configure LastPass Authenticator 2FA method

  • Register/Login with miniOrange.
  • Drupal 2FA registration
  • Navigate to Setup Two-Factor tab. Select LastPass Authenticator and click on the Configure link.
  • Drupal 2FA select Lastpass Authenticator method
  • Download LastPass Authenticator app in your mobile and Scan the QR code using the LastPass Authenticator app.
  • Drupal 2FA Scan the QR code
  • Enter Passcode from LastPass Authenticator app and click on Verify and Save button.
  • Drupal 2FA Enter the Passcode
  • You have successfully Configured LastPass Authenticator 2FA method.
  • Drupal 2FA Successfully Configured LastPass Authenticator method

2. Try login using miniOrange 2-Factor module ( LastPass Authenticator )

  • Once you complete the LastPass Authenticator setup, open a new browser/private window, and login into your Drupal site. You will be asked to authenticate your identity using the LastPass Authenticator (2FA) method.
