Managing user access and authentication between Transcosmos Shopify store and Salesforce community proved to be a complex task for Transcosmos, with a substantial user base. It has a community on Salesforce that is used for FAQs, company discussions and wanted to link its Shopify store and Salesforce account so that users could easily access both the applications with a single set of credentials. In order to streamline access to their Salesforce forum, they required an efficient Single Sign-On (SSO) solution to ensure that user provisioning was automated and secure.
To address these challenges, miniOrange implemented the Shopify Store as IDP Application to cater Transcosmos specific needs and requirements as follows
In response to the challenges faced by Transcosmos, miniOrange's Store as IDP-SSO application emerged as a highly effective solution. It not only enabled seamless and secure access to Salesforce (Service Provider) using the existing Shopify (IDP) user credentials but also utilized a Just-in-Time (JIT) provisioning approach, effectively synchronizing user creation, deletion, and updates between the Shopify Store and Salesforce. This synchronization greatly streamlined the management of users, eliminating the necessity for manual intervention and redundancy.
The integration of the miniOrange SSO application significantly enhanced the user experience and security measures for Transcosmos. By leveraging their existing Shopify credentials, users were able to seamlessly access both the Shopify store and the Salesforce community.
