Steps to configure PowerSchool SAML Single Sign-on ( SSO ) Login into Drupal website

1. Configure Drupal as Identity Provider

  • Login into your Drupal site Admin console and navigate to Extend tab of top menu bar.
  • drupal saml idp click extend
  • Select the Install new module option to install a new module in your Drupal website.
  • drupal saml idp click install new module
  • Upload the downloaded zip file of the module and click on Install button to continue the next step.
  • drupal saml idp choose download zip file
  • Select Enable newly added modules.
  • drupal saml idp click enable newly added module
  • Search for miniOrange SAML IDP and scroll down till you find miniOrange SAML Identity Provider. Click on the checkbox and next to it and click on the Install button to enable the module.

  • Navigate to the Configuration tab and Select Drupal SAML IDP Configuration.

  • In the IDP Metadata, Copy the IDP Entity ID/Issuer, SAML Login URL and Certificate (Optional) and Keep it handy.

  • In the miniOrage SAML Identity Provider module, go to Service Provider Setup tab of the module. There are two way to configure Drupal SAML IDP Configuration SSO module:
    • A. By Uploading SP Metadata
    • Click on UPLOAD SP METADATA link.
    • Click on Upload Metadata File and click on Upload to fetch your information.
    • You can either Upload Metadata URL and click on Fetch Metadata button.
    • Drupal SAML Service Provider - upload idp metadata
      B. Manual Configuartion
    • Provide the required settings (i.e. Service Provider Name, SP Entity ID/Issuer, ACS URL and X.509 Certificate) find to your Service Provider PowerSchool and click on Save Configuration button to save your configuration.
    • Service Provider Name Enter name of Service Provider
      SP Entity ID or Issuer Copy SP Entity ID / Issuer (a.k.a Audience URL) from PowerSchool Dashboard
      ACS URL Copy ACS URL (a.k.a Destination and Recipient URL) from PowerSchool Dashboard
      X.509 Certificate Copy and Download certificate from PowerSchool Dashboard

2. Configure PowerSchool as Service Provider

  • Login into PowerSchool SIS as SAML Service Provider Admin Console.
  • Select Security tab in Admin Dashboard.
  • From listed option select Set Up Single Sign-On (SSO).
  • Sign-In Page URL Copy SAML Login URL from IDP Metadata tab of Drupal SAML Identity Provider
    Sign-Out Page URL Copy SAML Logout URL from IDP Metadata tab of Drupal SAML Identity Provider
    Certificate/Fingerprint Copy and Download the X.509 Certificate from IDP Metadata tab of Drupal SAML Identity Provider
  • Select Enable Single Sign-On Check box and save the settings.
