Circle Single Sign-On (SSO) With WordPress As OAuth Server | Login Into Circle Using WordPress

WordPress OAuth Server plugin enables Single Sign-On (SSO) into the Circle using your WordPress username and password. Once you configure the Circle with WP OAuth Server plugin, you can login to your Circle application using WP credentials. OAuth Server plugin also allows you to send custom WordPress user attributes to your Circle app as per your requirements. Download And Installation

  • Log into your WordPress instance as an admin.
  • Go to the WordPress Dashboard -> Plugins and click on Add New.
  • Search for a WordPress OAuth Server Single Sign-On (SSO) plugin and click on Install Now.
  • Once installed click on Activate.

Steps to configure WordPress Login into Circle

1. Setup WordPress as OAuth Server

  • Navigate to miniOrange OAuth Server on the left side menu.
  • Now, search for your required OAuth Client(i.e, Circle).
  • Click on the Circle icon.

  • Next, enter the Client Name as per your requirements.
  • Then, enter the Redirect / Callback URL that you will get from the Circle side application under the Redirect URI field.
  • Click on the Save Client button.

  • Note down Client ID, Client Secret, Endpoints to configure in your Circle App.

2. Setup Circle as OAuth Client

  • Go to the developer account of Circle.
  • Now, click on the dropdown named as your username.
  • Go to Settings option from the dropdown.

  • Then, select Single sign on option.

  • Now, enable the Enable SSO toggle.
  • Under Button Label, You can write the button name you want on the login/ Sign in page.

  • Copy the Callback URL, which you will need for configuring the OAuth plugin.

  • Below the OAuth Provider and Callback URL, there is a dropdown where you can select WordPress (WP_OAuth).

    Note: From the below picture you can see, Circle has added miniOrange as preferred authentication method.

  • Now, configure the Circle as an OAuth client using the below details.
  • Client ID : Click Here
    Secret Key: Click Here
    Scope: email profile
    WordPress (WP-OAuth) URL: WordPress Home URL

  • And, click on the Save changes button.
  • Now, you will be able to see the SSO button on your login page.
