Import Products from File to WooCommerce (.csv, .txt, .tsv)

Syncing products to WooCommerce from a file is simple with miniOrange WooCommerce Product Sync plugin, just upload a CSV, TXT, or TSV file, map the relevant attributes, and choose the product type to import. After testing the connection, start the sync process, and track progress through the Dashboard. Once completed, your products, pricing, and stock data will be successfully imported to WooCommerce.

  • After Installing and Activating the plugin on WordPress admin dashboard, you will need to login into the plugin with your miniOrange account which you used to purchase the plugin (using email and password).

  • Once logged in, you need to verify the license with the miniOrange License Key which you can find on the miniOrange Portal.

  • Click on Activate License to start using the plugin.

After installing and activating the miniOrange WooCommerce Product Sync plugin, follow the steps below to upload your CSV, TXT, or TSV file and configure the connection to import products into your WooCommerce store.


  • Go to the Suppliers tab in the plugin. Click on the Add Custom button.

  • Name the Supplier (For example: Custom Supplier) and choose Manual File as the Connection Type.

  • In the File Details tab, name the connection and upload the file that has the product data.

    Note: If your file has a header row, enable “Use first row as header”. You can also change the delimiter if needed.


  • Once you upload the file, you can test the connection by clicking 'Update & Test'.

  • Now, go to the Prerequisites tab and select whether you want to import simple, variable, or both types of products. As we are importing both in this example, we chose the Simple and Variable Products option.

  • Use “Group Variations by Unique Value” if each variation row has a grouping column attribute.
  • Use “Group Variations by Parent Identifier” when the variation rows have a column to identify the parent product (such as Parent SKU) that links it to the main product.

  • Now, go to the Attribute Mapping section and select Main Product to map the file data to WooCommerce attributes.

  • In the Core Fields, map the attributes like SKU, Name, Description, etc.

    Note: If your data doesn’t have Header values, you can use the column index numbers for mapping.


  • In the Variation tab map the necessary Core Fields and in Attributes tab, map the variable attributes like Color and Size.

  • Now, go to the Home screen and click on the Start button to initiate the sync.

  • Select the attributes you want to sync and click on Start Sync.
  • Import products into WooCommerce - view details
  • Go to Dashboard, and click View Details to track the sync status and the number of products synced.

  • You can confirm the synced products by going to the Products tab.

  • If you can see the products, then the connection is successful. Your WooCommerce store is ready to import products, pricing, and stock data from a manual file.
