Setup WeChat Login to Shopify Store – Shopify WeChat Social Login

Overview

The miniOrange Social Login Application makes logging into your Shopify Store super easy. With this application, your users can quickly use their WeChat account to sign in, whether it's a Shopify Plus or Non-Plus store. Once you enable WeChat Social Login, users will be able to utilize their preferred credentials to access your Shopify store. Users will not need to create multiple accounts and they will be able to log in using their WeChat Account.

WeChat Login for Shopify

WeChat, a simple messaging and social media app boasts of a billion monthly users. With so many users using WeChat every single day, a WeChat login option is essential. This can be done easily with the help of a Social Login.

Pre-requisites: Shopify Social Login Application

To configure SSO into Shopify with WeChat as IDP, you will need to install the miniOrange Social Login application on your Shopify store.

Configuration Steps

Step-By-Step Guide to Enable WeChat Login on Shopify Store

Step 1: Configure Custom App in Shopify for WeChat Login

• Go to the social login application Dashboard. Here, please click on Twitch application.

• If you don't want to setup your custom app then please click on Setup app in just one click. Then, Click on Save. This will setup your WeChat application for Shopify.

• That is all you require to do to add Connect with WeChat button to Shopify. To Setup a custom app for Twitch, please follow the steps below.

Step 2: Configure Custom App in Twitch

• Go to the Applications page, click on the create a new app button.

• Enter your application name and description and upload two icons for the app. Then click the green "Next" button.
• [Note*-28x28 pixels and 108x108 pixels in PNG format, up to 300 KB in file size for the icon image]

• On the next screen of creation, enter the "Authorized Callback URL".(You should copy the Callback URL from the plugin instructions because it is weChat protocol that we can't change the callback URL once the app gets reviewed.)
• NOTE:-Be careful while giving the Callback URL.If required reach out to us through email.
• Click on the download link to download the WeChat registration form.

• Print the downloaded WeChat registration form, fill the form, save or scan the signed version.
• Traverse back to the application creation page, click on the "Browse" button and upload the WeChat filled and signed version of the form. Click on the Submit button.

• Next Copy the CLIENT ID and CLIENT SECRET from the App Settings and Paste them into the fields above.

Step 3: Complete Setup of WeChat Login on Shopify

• Copy the Client Id and Client Secret form above setup and Paste them into the fields in Instructions.

• Then click on Save & Test Configuration button.
• A notification from the app will pop-up that the test configuration was successful. That means your Custom app was set properly.

• Go to the App Dashboard and click on the toggle button on WeChat icon to activate WeChat login button so that people can sign-in to your store using Login with Twitch.

• Now, You can see the WeChat social Login button is activated on your Shopify Store. This will allow users to connect to your shopify store using WeChat application.

Hence you have configured WeChat Social Login into Shopify Store.
