JoomAI: AI Assistant for Joomla

Overview

This guide walks you through installing and configuring the JoomAI: AI Assistant plugin. It covers adding an AI model with an API key, generating AI-based content with titles, topics, keywords, and editing the results as needed. Finally, it explains how to use the built-in AI chat assistant within Joomla to get instant responses to your queries.

Steps to Setup JoomAI: AI Assistant for Joomla

Step 1: Install the JoomAI: AI Assistant Plugin

• Download the zip file for the miniOrange JoomAI: AI Assistant plugin from the link here.
• Login into your Joomla site’s administrator console.
• From Menu, click on System, then under Install section click on Extensions.
• Upload the downloaded zip file to install the JoomAI: AI Assistant plugin.
• Go to the components -> miniOrange AI Assistant -> Configurations.

Step 2: Configure JoomAI: AI Assistant

• In the miniOrange JoomlaAI: AI Assistant configuration tab, click on the New button.

• After that, you can see a window where you can add the AI model name (gemini-1.5-flash/gpt-4o etc) and API key from OpenAI, Google Gemini, and others. Then click on the Save & Close button.

• AI model name and API key configured successfully.

Getting started with your first AI content generation

• Go to Configurations tab of the miniOrange AI Assistant plugin. Click on the AI Content Generator button located at the top-left corner.

• On the AI Content Generator screen, under the Content Details tab, you can provide all the necessary information required to generate AI-based content. Start by entering a title for the content, followed by the topic you want the content to cover. You can also include keywords to make sure specific terms are included in the generated text.
• After filling in all the details, simply click on the Generate Content button (as shown in the screenshot) to start generating your AI-generated content.

• Once the content is successfully generated, it gets displayed in the Generated Content tab.
• If you need to make any modifications or updates, simply click the Edit Mode button to adjust the text according to your requirements. After editing, the changes can be saved by clicking the Save & Close button.

Step 3: Chat with the AI assistant now

• The AI Assistant button can be found at the bottom-right corner of the screen. Click on the button to open the chat window. In this window, you can select any one of the AI models that you configured earlier from the dropdown menu. Once the model is selected, simply type your query in the text box and click the Send button. The AI Assistant will then generate the required response.
