Setup Slack Login to Shopify Store – Shopify Slack Social Login

Overview

The miniOrange Social Login Application makes logging into your Shopify Store super easy. With this application, your users can quickly use their Slack account to sign in, whether it's a Shopify Plus or Non-Plus store. Once you enable Slack Social Login, users will be able to utilize their preferred credentials to access your Shopify store. Users will not need to create multiple accounts and they will be able to log in using their Slack Account.

Pre-requisites: Shopify Social Login Application

To configure SSO into Shopify with Slack as IDP, you will need to install the miniOrange Social Login application on your Shopify store.

Configuration Steps

Step-By-Step Guide to Enable Slack Login on Shopify Store

Step 1: Configure Custom App in Shopify for Slack Login

• Go to the social login application Dashboard. Here, please click on Slack application.

• If you don't want to setup your custom app then please click on Setup app in just one click. Then, Click on Save. This will setup your Slack application for Shopify.

• That is all you require to do to add Connect with Slack button to Shopify. To Setup a custom app for Slack, please follow the steps below.

Step 2: Configure Custom App in Slack

• Go to https://api.slack.com/apps and sign in with your Slack account.
• On that page click on the Create an App button. Select From Scratch option from the popup.

• Enter the Application Name and select Workspace and click on Create App.

• Now navigate to OAuth and Prermissions tab from the left hand side menu.

• Enter Redirect URL in the redirect URL field. (from instructions page).

• Now navigate to Basic Information tab from the left hand side menu.
• Copy the CLient ID and Client Secret from the app credentials section.

Step 3: Complete Setup of Slack Login on Shopify

• Copy the Client Id and Client Secret form above setup and Paste them into the fields in Instructions.

• Then click on Save & Test Configuration button.
• A notification from the app will pop-up that the test configuration was successful. That means your Custom app was set properly.

• Now, You can see the Slack social Login button is activated on your Shopify Store. This will allow users to connect to your shopify store using Slack application.

Hence you have configured Slack Social Login into Shopify Store.
