How to Configure Custom Email Notifications
Overview
Shopify LMS Integration helps you connect a Learning Management System (LMS) to your Shopify store. This lets you offer an interactive and engaging learning experience to your customers. We support integrations with LMS platforms like Thinkific, Moodle LMS, Brightspace LMS, Teachable LMS, and more. This guide walks you through setting up custom email notifications for specific events on your LMS platform.
Pre-requisites : Download And Installation
- Go to the Shopify App Store.
- Search for SyncUP - Course Sync and click on Install.
- Click the Install App button in the top-right corner.
- Navigate to your Shopify Store Admin Dashboard.
- Go to Apps > SyncUP: Course Sync.
Configuration Steps
Follow the step-by-step guide for configuring custom email events (Course Purchase, Voucher Purchase & Assign Voucher) in the Shopify SyncUP application.
Step 1: Choose Event Type
You can send email notifications for the following event types:
Course Purchase: Triggered when a customer purchases a course for themselves.
Voucher Purchase: Triggered when a customer purchases a course voucher to assign it to someone else.
Assign Voucher: Triggered when a customer assigns a purchased course to specific individuals.
Step 2: Configure the Default Email Template
- Under the Notifications tab, select the desired event type (e.g., Course Purchase)
- Toggle the switch for the selected event to enable confirmation emails.
- This email template has default fields:
- LMS: Indicates the integrated LMS platform.
- From: The sender's email address.
- Subject: The subject line of the email.
Step 3: Set Up a Custom Email Template
- Choose Custom Email Template for the desired event (e.g., Course Purchase)
- Ensure the toggle is turned on for the same.
- Update the following fields:
- LMS: Select your LMS platform.
- From: Specify the sender's email address.
- Subject: Write a suitable subject line.
- The order variable can be placed anywhere within the subject area as needed.
- Click the Edit Code icon to modify the template’s HTML shown in the image below.
- Note: Custom templates use the Thymeleaf template engine.
- Scroll down and click Reset Template to revert any changes.
You have successfully configured custom email notifications in the SyncUP: Course Sync app on your Shopify store. These event-based notifications will now keep your customers informed about their course-related activities.
