miniOrange Password Sync with LDAP Add-on


Connect your LDAP Directory with WordPress and sync the user passwords from WordPress to LDAP Directory using miniOrange Password Sync Add-on. The add-on allows you to update the user password in LDAP Directory whenever the WordPress users updates/reset their password in WordPress.

Pre-requisite

  • LDAP/AD Login for Intranet Sites premium plugin.

Step 1: Download & Install miniOrange Premium Plugin & Password Sync Add-on

  • To download the LDAP Premium Plugin and Password Sync Add-on. Login to your miniOrange Admin Console.

  • Navigate to License >> Manage License >> Plugin Releases and Downloads. Download the add-on zip files and paste it in the Plugins Directory of your WordPress site.

  • From your WordPress dashboard. Go to PluginsAdd New.

  • Click on Upload Plugin and choose the downloaded plugins zip.

  • After installing the Password Sync Add-on, activate the add-on from your Plugins page.

Step 2: Setup miniOrange Password Sync Add-on

  • Once the password sync add-on is activated, it will be available on the left-hand panel of the WordPress.
  • To configure the add-on click on password sync with LDAP server on the left-hand panel.

  • Select your Directory Server Type type from the dropdown list.

  • Enable Enable Password Synchronization checkbox the click on Save Configuration button

Step 3: Update/Reset Password in WordPress

You can sync the WordPress password to Active Directory in two ways:


1. Update the password in WordPress user profile.

2. Reset the password from WordPress login page.

Update the password in WordPress user profile

  • Login in your WordPress site using LDAP credentials.
  • Unable to load image
  • Go to the user profile and scroll down to Account Management. Enter the new password and click on Update Profile.

  • The new password is updated in Active Directory.

Reset the password from WordPress login page

  • Go to your WordPress login page. Click on Lost your password link. Enter your email id and and click on Get New Password button.

  • Reset your password using the link which you received in your email. Enter the new password and click on Reset Password button.

  • The new password is updated in Active Directory.

Step 4: Test miniOrange Password Sync Add-on

  • Go to the WordPress admin dashboard and click on LDAP/AD Login for Intranet plugin from the left panel .

  • In the LDAP Confiuration tab scroll down to Test Authentication. Enter the username and password and click on Test Authentication.

  • The Test Authentication is Successful.

  • You can now login in your WordPress site with the updated password.
