Guide to Setup miniOrange Password Sync with LDAP Server Add-on


Update your user password in LDAP Directory whenever user updates/resets the password in WordPress using miniOrange Password Sync With LDAP Server Add-On.

Pre-requisite

  • miniOrange LDAP/AD Login For Intranet Sites Premium Plugin
  • Secure LDAP (LDAPS) connection should be established. Click Here to setup secure LDAP (LDAPS) connection

Step 1: Download & Installation

  • Login to your miniOrange Admin Console to download the Premium Plugin and Password Sync with LDAP Server Add-on.

  • Navigate to License >> Manage License >> Releases and Downloads. Download the Password Sync with LDAP Server add-on zip file.

  • From your WordPress Admin Dashboard, Go to Plugins Section and Click On Add New Button.

  • Click on Upload Plugin button and choose the downloaded zip file of Password Sync with LDAP Server add-on.

  • After successful installation of the Password Sync with LDAP Server add-on, activate the add-on from the Plugins section.

Step 2: Setup miniOrange Password Sync with LDAP Server Add-on

  • Once the add-on is activated, it will be displayed on the left-side panel of the WordPress.
  • To configure the add-on, click on Password Sync with LDAP server on the left-side panel of the WordPress.

  • Check the Enable Password Synchronization checkbox the click on Save Configuration button.

Step 3: Update/Reset Password in WordPress

There are two ways to Update/Reset the user password in WordPress:

1. Update the user password from WordPress User Profile Section.

2. Reset the user password from WordPress Login Page.

Update the user password from WordPress user profile section.

  • Login to your WordPress site using the LDAP credentials.

  • Go to the user profile section and navigate to Account Management Section. Enter the new password and click on Update Profile button.

  • The new password will be automatically updated in the Active Directory.

Reset the password from WordPress login page

  • Go to the WordPress Login Page. Click on Lost your password link. Enter your email address and and click on Get New Password button.

  • Reset the password using the link received in your email. Enter the new password and click on Reset Password button.

  • The new password will be updated in Active Directory.

Step 4: Test the miniOrange Password Sync with LDAP Server Add-on

  • Go to the WordPress admin dashboard and click on LDAP/AD Login for Intranet plugin from the left side panel.

  • In the LDAP Confiuration tab scroll down to Test Authentication Section. Enter the username and the new password which has been changed and click on Test Authentication button.

  • On entering successfull credentials, you will see Test Authentication is Successful message.

  • You can now login in your WordPress site with the updated password.
