Guide to setup miniOrange self service password reset with LDAP server
Overview
Using the miniorange Password Sync with LDAP server add-on along with the LDAP/Active Directory Login for Intranet sites premium plugin provides you with the functionality to automatically update the user's password in the LDAP server / Active Directory whenever a user changes or resets their password in WordPress.
Prerequisites
- LDAP/Active Directory Login for Intranet Sites premium plugin needs to be installed and configured.
- A secure LDAP (LDAPS) connection should be established. Click Here to setup secure LDAP (LDAPS) connection if not already configured.

Download And Install
- Login to login.xecurify.com.
- On the Xecurify dashboard, you will see a navigation section on the left. Click on License >> Manage Licenses.
- In the manage licenses tab click on the Releases and Downloads tab.
- You can download the Password-sync Addon from here.
- Go to the plugins section in the WordPress dashboard and click on the Add New button.
- Click on the Upload Plugin button.
- Click on the choose file button to select the downloaded plugin / add-On .zip file.
- Once done, click on the Install Now button.
- Click on the Activate Plugin button to activate the add-On.
Setup LDAP Self Service Password Reset Add-on
- Once the password sync add-on is activated, it will be displayed on the left-side panel of the WordPress dashboard.
- To configure the add-on, click on the miniOrange LDAP Password Sync in the left-side panel of the WordPress.
- Enable Password Synchronization checkbox and click on the Save Configuration button.
Update/Reset Password In WordPress
- Once the password sync add-on is activated, it will be displayed on the left-side panel of the WordPress dashboard.
- Update the user password from WordPress User Profile Section.
- Reset the user password from WordPress Login Page.
Test WordPress to LDAP Sync
- Login to your WordPress site using the LDAP credentials.
- Go to the user profile section and navigate to the Account Management Section. Enter the new password and click on the Update Profile button.
- The new password will be automatically updated in the active directory.
Reset the password from WordPress login page
- Go to the WordPress Login Page. Click on the Lost your password link. Enter your email address and click on the Get New Password button.
- Reset the password using the link received in your email. Enter the new password and click on the Reset Password button.
- The new password will be updated in LDAP/active directory.
Test Password Sync Add-On
- Go to the WordPress admin dashboard and click on the LDAP/Active Directory Login for Intranet plugin from the left side panel.
- In the LDAP Configuration tab, scroll down to the Test Authentication Section. Enter the username and the new password, and click on the Test Authentication button.
- On entering correct credentials, you will see a Success message.
- You can now login to your WordPress site with the updated password.
