Guide to setup miniOrange self service password reset with LDAP server

Using the miniorange Password Sync with LDAP server add-on along with the LDAP/Active Directory Login for Intranet sites premium plugin provides you with the functionality to automatically update the user's password in the LDAP server / Active Directory whenever a user changes or resets their password in WordPress.

  • Login to login.xecurify.com.
  • Login into xecurify.com to download the plugin

  • On the Xecurify dashboard, you will see a navigation section on the left. Click on License >> Manage Licenses.

  • In the manage licenses tab click on the Releases and Downloads tab.
  • You can download the Password-sync Addon from here.
  • Download/Update Password Sync with LDAP Server Add-on to enable active directory password sync

  • Go to the plugins section in the WordPress dashboard and click on the Add New button.
  • Upload Password Sync with LDAP Server Add-on on wordpress to Sync LDAP/AD Password

  • Click on the Upload Plugin button.
  • Upload Password Sync with LDAP Server Add-on to configure the ldap password sync

  • Click on the choose file button to select the downloaded plugin / add-On .zip file.
  • Once done, click on the Install Now button.
  • Choose the Password Sync with LDAP server add-on file and install

  • Click on the Activate Plugin button to activate the add-On.
  • Activate the Password Sync with LDAP Server add-on to have active directory password sync
  • Once the password sync add-on is activated, it will be displayed on the left-side panel of the WordPress dashboard.
  • To configure the add-on, click on the miniOrange LDAP Password Sync in the left-side panel of the WordPress.

  • Enable Password Synchronization checkbox and click on the Save Configuration button.
  • Password Sync with LDAP/Active Directory Add-On Configuration enable it to enable wp to ldap password sync
  • Once the password sync add-on is activated, it will be displayed on the left-side panel of the WordPress dashboard.
    • Update the user password from WordPress User Profile Section.
    • Reset the user password from WordPress Login Page.

Test WordPress to LDAP Sync

  • Login to your WordPress site using the LDAP credentials.

  • Go to the user profile section and navigate to the Account Management Section. Enter the new password and click on the Update Profile button.

  • The new password will be automatically updated in the active directory.

Reset the password from WordPress login page

  • Go to the WordPress Login Page. Click on the Lost your password link. Enter your email address and click on the Get New Password button.

  • Reset the password using the link received in your email. Enter the new password and click on the Reset Password button.

  • The new password will be updated in LDAP/active directory.
  • Go to the WordPress admin dashboard and click on the LDAP/Active Directory Login for Intranet plugin from the left side panel.

  • In the LDAP Configuration tab, scroll down to the Test Authentication Section. Enter the username and the new password, and click on the Test Authentication button.

  • On entering correct credentials, you will see a Success message.

  • You can now login to your WordPress site with the updated password.
