How to set up the Twilio gateway in the miniOrange Shopify SMS Notifications app?


Twilio is an American company based in San Francisco, California, which provides programmable communication tools for making and receiving phone calls, sending and receiving text messages, and performing other communication functions using its web service APIs.

1.  Obtain Twilio Credentials


  • Go to the Twilio website (https://www.twilio.com) and sign up for an account.
  • Once you have an account, log in to the Twilio dashboard.
  • In the Twilio dashboard, click on the dropdown menu in the top-right corner and select your project.
  • On the main dashboard page, you will find your
    • Account SID
    • Auth Token
    • Phone Number
    • Make a note of these value.

2.  Configure Twilio in our Application


  • Go to Gateway Configurations tab in application
  • Select Twilio as SMS Gateway from the gateways dropdown list

  • Open your application and fill in the following input fields using the information you obtained
  • Enter this Gateway URL https://api.twilio.com/2010-04-01/Accounts/TWILIO_ACCOUNT_SID/Messages.json
  • Enter the Account SID you obtained from the Twilio dashboard.
  • Enter the Auth Token you obtained from the Twilio dashboard.
  • Enter the Phone Number you obtained from the Twilio dashboard.

  • Click on Save Setting button to save your configuration
