WeChat Login for Shopify
WeChat, a simple messaging and social media app boasts of a billion monthly users. With so many users using WeChat every single day, a WeChat login option is essential. This can be done easily with the help of a Social Login.
What is Social Login?
Social Login allows users to connect to any website using various networking platforms such as Facebook, Google, or Twitter. It is a form of single sign-on for users designed and implemented to make logging in easier for end-users. Using social login users can sign into any third-party website without having to create an account.
How does Social Login Works?
The social login process is extremely simple. Users come to your website and select whichever social login provider they want to login. They fill in their details on the social network provider’s site. Once the authentication process is completed by the social provider the user can start using your Shopify website. If they are a new user then they are registered and if they are an existing user they are logged in.

Steps to Configure WeChat Social Login into Shopify
Step 1: Add Social Login App to your Shopify Store
Follow the steps below to configure WeChat Social login in Shopify
Configure WeChat Social Login
- Visit to Here on Shopify marketplace. Click on Add app to install it on your store.
- Once you have installed it, it will take you to the social login application Dashboard. Here, please click on Wechat.
- If you don't want to setup your custom app then please click on Setup app in just one click. Then, Click on Save. This will setup your Wechat application for Shopify.
- That is all you require to do to add Connect/Login with Wechat button to Shopify. To Setup a custom app for Wechat, please follow the steps below.
Step 2: Configure Custom App for Shopify WeChat Login :
- Go to the Applications page, click on the create a new app button.
- Enter your application name and description and upload two icons for the app. Then click the green "Next" button.
- [Note*-28x28 pixels and 108x108 pixels in PNG format, up to 300 KB in file size for the icon image]
- On the next screen of creation, enter the "Authorized Callback URL".(You should copy the Callback URL from the plugin instructions because it is weChat protocol that we can't change the callback URL once the app gets reviewed.)
- NOTE:-Be careful while giving the Callback URL.If required reach out to us through email.
- Click on the download link to download the WeChat registration form.
- Print the downloaded WeChat registration form, fill the form, save or scan the signed version.
- Traverse back to the application creation page, click on the "Browse" button and upload the WeChat filled and signed version of the form. Click on the Submit button.
- Next Copy the CLIENT ID and CLIENT SECRET from the App Settings and Paste them into the fields above.
Step 3: Complete Setup of WeChat Login on Shopify
- Copy the Client Id and Client Secret form above setup and Paste them into the fields in Instructions.
- Then click on Save & Test Configuration button.
- Custom app will set properly when Test configuration get successful
- Go to the App Dashboard and click on the toggle button on Wechat icon to activate Wechat login button so that people can sign-in to your store using Login with Wechat.
- Now, You can see the Wechat social Login button is activated on your Shopify Store. This will allow users to connect to your store using Wechat.
You have successfully configured WeChat Social Login for your Shopify Store.
