Line Single Sign-On (SSO) OAuth and OpenID connect | Line SSO Login


Configure Line Single Sign-On (SSO) with WordPress OAuth & OpenID Connect Single Sign-On (SSO) plugin. Enable secure login into WordPress using as OAuth and OpenID Connect provider. Line Single Sign-On (SSO) with WordPress allows your users to login to your WordPress and access the site by authenticating with their Line identity provider. You can also configure plugin using different IDPs such as Azure AD, Office 365, and other custom providers. It supports advanced Single Sign-On (SSO) features such as user profile Attribute mapping, Role mapping, multi-tenant login etc. Here we will go through a guide to configure Line Single Sign-On (SSO) with WordPress for user authentication. By the end of this guide, users should be able to perform secure login to WordPress and access the site with Line SSO. Pre-requisites : Download And Installation


  • Log into your WordPress instance as an admin.
  • Go to the WordPress Dashboard -> Plugins and click on Add New.
  • Search for a WordPress OAuth Single Sign-On (SSO) plugin and click on Install Now.
  • Once installed click on Activate.

Steps to configure Line Single Sign-On (SSO) Login into WordPress

1. Setup Line as OAuth Provider

  • Download the Line Application(app) and sign up/login into the app in the mobile.
  • Use the same credentials used to log into the Line mobile App for logging in to https://developers.line.biz/.
  • From top menu click on Products.

  • From the options click on LINE Login.

  • Click on Start now as shown in below image.

  • Please click on Create new provider and give suitable name and click on Next page as shown in the image below.

  • In the Channel Settings tab, Fill all the required details.

  • Line assigns a unique Application ID to your application. Copy the Channel ID ( Client ID ) and Channel secret ( Client Secret ) key and keep it handy.

  • To obtain a user's email address with a web app, Click on Apply button and check the required details. Click on Submit button.

  • In App settings click on edit and add the Callback URL/Redirect URL received from the WordPress OAuth Single Sign-On (SSO) plugin.

You have successfully configured Line as OAuth Provider for achieving Line Single Sign-On (SSO) with WordPress for user authentication.


2. Setup WordPress as OAuth Client


  • Go to Configure OAuth tab and click Add New Application to add a new client application into your website.

  • Go to the Configure OAuth tab in the Plugin and search for Custom OAuth in the applications list and select Custom OAuth 2.0 App.
  • Line Single Sign-On (SSO) OAuth - Select Application
  • Copy the Callback URL to be used in OAuth Provider Configuration and click Next.

  • Please refer the below table for configuring the scope & endpoints for Line in the plugin. Click Next.

  • Client ID : from the Line SSO application configured
    Client Secret : from the Line SSO application configured
    Scope : profile openid email
    Authorize Endpoint: https://access.line.me/oauth2/v2.1/authorize
    Access Token Endpoint: https://api.line.me/oauth2/v2.1/token
    Get User Info Endpoint: https://api.line.me/v2/profile

    Line Single Sign-On (SSO) OAuth - Add App name, TenantID
  • Configure the client credentials like Client ID & Client Secret as shown in the setup dialogue box and enter the scope value as profile openid email. Click Next.

  • Verify the configuration details and click on Finish to save the configuration.

You have successfully configured WordPress as OAuth Client for achieving user authentication with Line Single Sign-On (SSO) login into your WordPress Site.


3. User Attribute Mapping

  • User Attribute Mapping is mandatory for enabling users to successfully Single Sign-On into WordPress using Line SSO. We will be setting up user profile attributes for WordPress using the below settings.
  • Finding user attributes

    • Go to Configure OAuth tab. Scroll down and click on Test Configuration.
    • Line Single Sign-On (SSO) - test configuration
    • You will see all the values returned by your OAuth Provider to WordPress in a table. If you don't see value for First Name, Last Name, Email or Username, make the required settings in your OAuth Provider to return this information.

    • Once you see all the values in Test Configuration, go to Attribute / Role Mapping tab, select attributes from Username dropdown and click on Save.

4: Login Settings / Sign In Settings

  • The settings in Single Sign-On (SSO) Settings tab define the user experience for Single Sign-On (SSO). To add a Line SSO login widget on your WordPress page, you need to follow the below steps.
  • 1. sign in settings for wordpress 5.7 and before :

    • Go to WordPress Left Panel > Appearances > Widgets.
    • Select miniOrange OAuth. Drag and drop to your favourite location and save.

    2. sign in settings for wordpress 5.8 :

    • Go to WordPress Left Panel > Appearances > Widgets.
    • Select miniOrange OAuth. Drag and drop to your favourite location and save.

    • Open your WordPress page and you can see the Line SSO login button there. You can test the Line Single Sign-On (SSO) now.
