Integrate WordPress Nextcloud OAuth using WordPress OAuth Server plugin for Single-Sign-On (SSO) into the Nextcloud app using your WordPress username and password. Once you configure the Nextcloud with WP OAuth Server plugin, you can SSO into the Nextcloud OAuth application using WP credentials. OAuth Server plugin also allows you to send custom WordPress user attributes to your Nextcloud app as per your requirements. Download And Installation

  • Log into your WordPress instance as an admin.
  • Go to the WordPress Dashboard -> Plugins and click on Add New Plugin.
  • Search for a WordPress OAuth Server Single Sign-On (SSO) plugin and click on Install Now.
  • Once installed click on Activate.

Steps to configure Nextcloud OAuth SSO login for WordPress users.

1. Setup WordPress as OAuth Server

  • In the left side menu, go to miniOrange OAuth Server and search for Nextcloud. Select Nextcloud application.

  • Provide Client Name of your choice and Callback/Redirect URI as https://<nextcolud-site-domain>/apps/sociallogin/custom_oauth2/<server_name> (Replace <server_name> with internal name configured in NextCloud).
  • OAuth server Single Sign-On(SSO)WordPress- Add Client name and Redirect URI
  • Note down App ID, App Secret, Endpoints to configure in your Nextcloud App.
  • OAuth server Single Sign-On(SSO)WordPress- Cliet Id and Client Secret

2. Setup Nextcloud as OAuth Client

  • Login to your NextCloud installation as an administrator.
  • Under your profile click on Apps.

  • Click Download and enable next to the Social Login app (click on Enable if already downloaded).

  • Under your profile click on Administration settings.

  • In left side panel, under Administration section, click on the Social Login tab.

  • Enter the values in the input fields as follows:
  • Internal name: Actual value of <server_name> entered in above step
    Title: Actual value of <server_name> entered in above step
    API Base URL: https://mywp-site.com/wp-json (here replace mywp-site.com with your WordPress site domain)
    Authorize url: value of Authorization Endpoint from Endpoints section of plugin
    Token url: value of Token Endpoint from Endpoints section of plugin
    Profile url: value of Get User Info Endpoint from Endpoints section of plugin
    Client Id: value of App ID from Client Credentials section
    Client Secret: value of App Secret from Client Credentials section
    Scope: openid profile email (retrieved from miniOrange plugin in WP)
    Profile fields: empty (optional)
    Groups claim: empty (optional)
    Default group: None
  • Click on Save button.
  • SSO button will be visible on the Nextcloud login page. Now you can login using the WordPress Server credentials.
