Single Sign-On into Zapier with Joomla as OAuth Server

If you want to login to your Zapier site using your Joomla username and password, you can simply do it using our Joomla OAuth Server plugin. Once you configure the Zapier with Joomla OAuth Server plugin, you can login to your Zapier application using Joomla credentials. It also allows you to send custom user attributes to your Zapier site as per your requirements.

  • Login into your Joomla site’s Administrator console.
  • From left toggle menu, click on System, then under Install section click on Extensions.
  • Now click on Or Browse for file button to locate and install the plugin file downloaded earlier.
  • Installation of plugin is successful. Now click on Start Using miniOrange OAuth Server plugin.
  • Under the Configure OAuth tab, click on the ADD button.

  • Go to Zapier and login with your account.

  • Choose your Zap Integration or Start a new Zapier integration.

  • Click on the Setup Authentication button.

  • Select the Authentication type OAuth v2 and click on the Save button.

  • Configure the client ID and client Secret which is provided by the Joomla OAuth server.

  • Once you saved the configuration, you can Test your authentication for which you need to add the Joomla user for that click on the Sign In to Joomla button.

  • You need to log in with the Joomla credentials.
  • Then, you need to authorize the application to access your details.

  • Once your account is successfully added to Zapier, you can click on the Test Authentication button.

  • On successful authentication you will find the Joomla user details in the response.

  • Now go to the Configure OAuth tab, and enter the Client Name and Redirect URL in the respective fields.
  • Then click on the Save Client button.

  • Under the List of OAuth Client's table, copy the Client ID and Secret of your Client. Go to your OAuth client and paste the Client ID and Secret in the respective fileds.
