Login using Joomla Users ( Joomla as SAML IDP ) plugin gives you the ability to use your Joomla credentials to log into Workplace. Here we will go through a step-by-step guide to configure SSO between Workplace as Service Provider and Joomla as an Identity Provider.

Steps for Integration of Joomla Single Sign-On (SSO) with Workplace as Service Provider

1. Configure Workplace as the Service Provider (SP)

  • Login to Workplace by Facebook SP.
  • Navigate to Admin Panel > Security > Authentication.
  • Check the Single-Sign On (SSO) box:
  • Workplace by Facebook SP for Joomla SSO

    Workplace by Facebook SP  Enter the following:

      Default for new users: Select a required option.
      SAML Authentication: Select the required settings.
      SAML URL: SAML Login URL from the Identity Provider Metadata tab in miniOrange Joomla SAML IDP Plugin
      SAML Issuer URI: IDP-Entity ID / Issuer from URL from the Identity Provider Metadata tab in miniOrange Joomla SAML IDP Plugin
      SAML Certificate: Certificate from the Identity Provider Metadata tab in miniOrange Joomla SAML IDP Plugin
  • Scroll down to the SAML configuration. You will now see your Audience URL, Recipient URL, and ACS (Assertion Consumer Service) URL.
  • Workplace by Facebook and joomla SSO
  • Copy all the values from SAML Configuration and paste it into Identity Provider tab of the miniOrange joomla SAML IDP Plugin
  • Click on Save Configuration button.
  • Click Test SSO in Workplace by Facebook SP.
  • Workplace by Facebook and joomla SSO
  • You will see a pop-up window confirming that the SAML connection is established correctly.

  • Click Save in Workplace by Facebook SP:

2: Configuring Joomla as Identity Provider (IDP)



  • Download SAML 2.0 IdP for Joomla from Here.
  • Login using Joomla into Service provider | Joomla SAML Single Sign-On SSO
  • Login to the administrator section of your Joomla 4 website :–
  • Login using Joomla into Service provider | Joomla SAML Single Sign-On SSO
  • From the dashboard of Joomla 4 site. Click on System to install the plugin
  • Login using Joomla into Service provider | Joomla SAML Single Sign-On SSO
  • Under System Install Extentions .
  • Login using Joomla into Service provider | Joomla SAML Single Sign-On SSO
  • Drag and drop your miniorange-joomla-saml-idp.zip file in the area indicated in the image below or browse and select the file to install the plugin.
  • Login using Joomla into Service provider | Joomla SAML Single Sign-On SSO
  • Now go to Components miniOrange Joomla IDP Service Provider
  • Login using Joomla into Service provider | Joomla SAML Single Sign-On SSO
  • Under Service Provider tab and fill in the Service Provider Name, SP Entity ID or Issuer, ACS URL and NameID Format. You will get these details from the Service Provider that you are using. Fill in the other fields according to your requirements. Click on Save.

  • Enter the following values:
        
    Service Provider Name  Choose appropriate name according to your choice .
    SP Entity ID or Issuer  Service Provider Entity ID .
    ACS URL                 SP Assertion Consumer Service URL .
    X.509 Certificate (optional)
    [For Signed Request]
    Paste certificate value you copied from the Metadata file .
    NameID Format Select urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:1.1:nameid-format:emailAddress.
    Assertion Signed Checked.

  • Click on NameID Attribute tab. Select the NameID Attribute and then click on Save Button.

  • Login to the administrator section of your Joomla website :–
    [host]/[sitename]/administrator/index.php

  • From the navigation menu on top go to Extensions Manage Install.

  • Drag and drop your miniorange-joomla-saml-idp.zip file in the area indicated in the image below or browse and select the file to install the plugin.

  • Go to Service Provider tab and fill in the Service Provider Name, SP Entity ID or Issuer, ACS URL and NameID Format. You will get these details from the Service Provider that you are using. Fill in the other fields according to your requirements. Click on Save.
