Import Products to WooCommerce via FTP

In this guide, we will walk you through the process of importing products into your WooCommerce store via FTP using the miniOrange WooCommerce Product Sync plugin. By following these steps, you’ll be able to seamlessly connect to your FTP server, configure product settings, and map essential data fields, such as SKU, Name, Description, and Variations, directly to WooCommerce.
Whether you're importing simple or variable products, this process ensures that your product catalog is efficiently synced with accurate pricing, stock levels, and product details.

  • After Installing and Activating the plugin on WordPress admin dashboard, you will need to login into the plugin with your miniOrange account which you used to purchase the plugin (using email and password).

  • Once logged in, you need to verify the license with the miniOrange License Key which you can find on the miniOrange Portal.

  • Click on Activate License to start using the plugin.

After installing and activating the miniOrange WooCommerce Product Sync plugin, follow the below steps to connect FTP and map product attributes:


  • Go to the Suppliers tab in the plugin. Click on the Add Custom button.

  • Name the Supplier (For example: Sanmar FTP) and select the Connection Type as FTP.

  • In the FTP tab, under File Details, enter the connection name and complete the fields like Host, Username, Password, Port Number, and File Path.

  • In the Prerequisites tab, select which product configuration you want and the identifying columns for Main and Variations.

    Note:
      -No Variation: If your file has only simple products with no variations.
      -Variable Response Attribute: Use when there is a grouping column available to identify all the variations.
      -Parent Product Identifier: Use when there is no grouping column available, and you need to make a separate API call to get the variations.


  • Now, go to the Attribute Mapping section and select Main Product to map the file data to WooCommerce attributes.

  • In the core fields, map the attributes like SKU, Name, Description, etc.

    Note: Mapping is done on the basis of column indexes starting form 0.


  • Example: Our file contains SKU in the 4th column so we have mapped index 3 (as indexing starts from 0) to SKU.

    Note: Similarly, you can map the name, description, and price from their corresponding FTP columns that contain the respective values.


  • In Variations Mapping, assign the variable attributes like Color and Size for variable products.

  • Now, go to the Home screen and click on the Start button to initiate the sync.

  • Select the attributes you want to sync and click on Start Sync.

  • Go to Dashboard, and click View Details to track the sync status and the number of products synced.

  • You can confirm the synced products by going to the Products tab.

  • If you can see the products, then the connection is successful. Your WooCommerce store is ready to import products, pricing, and stock data via FTP.
