Yes, you can restrict Shopify SSO access to only users with verified email domains from Okta by configuring domain-based access policies in Okta. Here's how you can do it:

How to restrict access to verified email domain users with Okta and Shopify Plus SSO:
In Okta:

In Okta, you can set up sign-on policies or group rules that only allow users with specific, verified email domains to access certain applications like Shopify.

Using a dedicated SSO application:

Assign the Shopify SSO application only to that group. This ensures that only users with email addresses from trusted, verified domains are allowed to log into your Shopify store via SSO.

Yes, it's possible to let users log in through Okta once and access multiple connected Shopify stores without signing in again. By setting up Single Sign-On (SSO) with Okta across each store and using the same session or identity configuration, users can move between stores without repeated logins. This provides a smoother experience while keeping access secure.

How to let users log in through Okta once and access multiple connected Shopify stores:

Okta as the Identity Provider (IdP): Okta acts as the central authority for user authentication.

Shopify as the Service Provider (SP): Each Shopify store acts as a Service Provider (using an SSO application), relying on Okta to verify user identities.

SAML Authentication: The integration is achieved through the SAML protocol, which allows the secure exchange of authentication information between Okta and your Shopify stores.

Centralized User Credentials: User credentials are centralized in Okta, eliminating the need for users to remember different login details for each store.

Yes, you can enforce login through Okta for all users and effectively disable Shopify’s default email-password authentication by using a custom Single Sign-On (SSO) flow.

In Okta:

Ensure that all customers who need access are added as users in your Okta directory. You can organize users into groups, apply policies, or enforce MFA as needed.

Using the miniOrange Shopify SSO application:

Set up Okta as the Identity Provider (IdP) with Shopify as the Service Provider (SP) via SAML, enable SSO in the miniOrange SSO app, and optionally hide default Shopify login/signup options from the storefront to prevent email-password-based access.

This setup ensures that all users accessing your Shopify store must authenticate via Okta, providing centralized access control and disabling Shopify’s native credential-based login.

Yes, you can restrict Shopify store access via miniOrange SSO exclusively to your employees by configuring access controls in Okta. This ensures that only users who are part of your organization and have valid Okta credentials can log in to your Shopify store.

How to configure employees' only access to Shopify Plus with Okta:
In Okta:

Create a dedicated Okta group for employees (e.g., "Shopify Employees"), add only authorized users (employees) you want to allow access to this group, and assign the Shopify SSO application exclusively to that group.

Using the Shopify Plus SSO application:

Integrate the miniOrange Shopify SSO app with your Okta instance, and configure it to allow only users from the designated employee group to initiate SSO—ensuring that external users are blocked and access to the Shopify store remains strictly employee-only.
