How to Install and Configure Cursor MCP Integration for Magento

miniOrange Cursor MCP Integration for Magento enables store owners, developers, and platform teams to securely connect Cursor and Cursor-compatible MCP clients with Magento REST and GraphQL APIs.This extension is designed for businesses that want to use Cursor AI agents with Magento while keeping their store APIs protected.

  • Purchase the miniOrange Cursor MCP Integration extension from Magento Marketplace (Adobe Commerce Marketplace).
  • Go to My profile -> My Purchases
  • Please ensure you are using correct access keys (My Profile - Access Keys)
  • Paste the access keys in your auth.json file inside your project
  • Use the below command to add the extension to your project.
    "composer require {module_name}:{version}"
  • You can see the module name and list of versions in the selector below the extension module name.
  • Run the following commands on command prompt to enable the extension.
    php bin/magento setup:upgrade

  • In Magento Admin, open the miniOrange Cursor MCP Integration extension from the left navigation and click on the Add Application button.
  • Under All Apps, click Cursor Authentication MCP to begin configuring this application type.

  • On the Add Integration Token screen, enter a unique Integration Name.
  • Under the Available APIs section, choose the Resource Access type. Select Custom for granular permission control, or use the default option for full access.
  • Only the resources you select here will be accessible via tokens issued under this integration, so configure permissions strictly based on the agent's required scope. Click on the Save integration button.

  • After creating the application, go to the Applications menu, click the action menu for the application, and select Edit to configure.

  • You would find the Token Endpoint, Client Secret and Client ID generated. You would need to provide this to the MCP.

  • In the JWT Token Expiry field, configure the lifetime (in seconds) for the access tokens issued by this integration.
  • AI agents and MCP clients can now request a short-lived JWT access token by sending their Client ID and Client Secret to the Token Endpoint configured above.
  • The system verifies the credentials and, if valid, returns a signed JWT token along with its expiry duration.
