Monday.com SAML Single Sign-On (SSO) | Login into Monday.com using WordPress



Monday.com SAML Single Sign-On (SSO) with WordPress as SAML IdP. Login using WordPress Users (WP as SAML IDP) plugin gives you the ability to use your WordPress credentials to login. Here we will go through a step-by-step guide to configure SSO between Monday.com as SP (Service Provider) and WordPress as IdP (Identity Provider).

Note: Premium Version of WP SAML IDP Plugin is required to set up SSO with Monday.com.

Pre-requisites: Download And Installation

To integrate the WordPress site as an Identity Provider, you will need to install the miniOrange Login using WordPress Users ( WP as SAML IDP ) plugin:

Guide to configure Monday.com SSO with WordPress (WP)

1. Setup Monday.com as SP (Service Provider)

  • Go to the WordPress IDP plugin, navigate to the IDP Metadata tab.
  • Here, you can find the Identity Provider Metadata URL /XML Metadata or endpoints like IDP Entity ID, SAML Login URL, SAML Logout URL (Premium Feature), Certificate for SP configuration.

  • Configure SAML SSO in Monday.com (SP) with WordPress - SSO Login with WordPress
  • Open a new browser tab or window, Log in to your Monday.com account as Account Admin.
  • Click your profile picture, and select Admin.

  • Select the Security section on the left side. then, click on Single Sign-On (SSO) listed inside the Login tab.
  • Under SSO Provider tab, Select Custom SAML 2.0.
  • Under Provider Information, Enter the information into the corresponding fields.
  • SAML SSO URL Copy and paste the IDP-EntityID/Issuer from IDP Metadata tab.
    Identity Provider Issuer Copy and paste the SAML Login URL from IDP Metadata tab.
    Public Certificate Download the Certificate from IDP Metadata.
    Open it in notepad. Copy and paste the content here.
  • Under Login Restrictions Policy, Select SAML except for guests.
  • Once this is done, click on Activate.

2. Configure WordPress (WP) as IdP (Identity Provider)

  • Open the WordPress site.
  • Install and activate the Login using WordPress Users ( WP as SAML IDP ) plugin on your WordPress site which is acting as Identity Provider.
  • Go to the WordPress IDP plugin, navigate to the Service Provider tab.
  • Enter the values corresponding to the information from Monday.com. Refer to the table below.
  • Note:You can get the metadata of Monday.com from:

    https://<your_domain>.monday.com/saml/saml_metadata

    Service Provider Name Monday
    SP Entity ID or Issuer https://<your_domain>.monday.com/saml/saml_callback
    ACS URL https://<your_domain>.monday.com/saml/saml_callback
    NameID Format urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:1.1:nameid-format:emailAddress
    Assertion Signed Check to sign the SAML Assertion.

  • Click on the Save button to save your configurations.

3. Attribute Mapping (This is a premium feature)

  • In the WordPress IDPplugin, navigate to the Attribute/Role Mapping tab.
  • In the User Attributes section, enter the following information and click Save .
  • Name User Meta Data
    FirstName first_name
    LastName last_name
    Email user_email
