To configure Salesforce as SAML IDP with WordPress, you will need to install the miniOrange SAML SP SSO plugin.

Follow the following steps to Configure Salesforce as IDP:

  • In the miniOrange SAML SP SSO plugin, navigate to Service Provider Metadata tab. Here, you can find the SP metadata such as SP Entity ID and ACS (AssertionConsumerService) URL which are required to configure the Identity Provider.

  • Log into your Salesforce account as admin.
  • After logging in, click Switch to Lightning Experience from the setup menu if you are not already using it.

  • Search for Apps and navigate to External Client App Manager

  • Click New External Client App and enable the option SAML

Enter SAML Configuration Details

  • Copy the following values from your SAML SSO Plugin for WordPress and paste into Salesforce.

Assign Profiles to the App

  • After saving, go to the Policies and select which users should be allowed to authenticate into WordPress.

Download the SAML Metadata

  • Go to SAML Login Information.
  • Download the IDP Metadata File or copy the IDP Metadata URL.

  • Keep this metadata handy for configuring the Service Provider.
