How to Connect Your WordPress Site to ChatGPT Using the MCP Server

The miniOrange Secure MCP Connector helps you connect your WordPress site to ChatGPT using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). MCP is an open standard that allows AI applications to securely connect with external services and data. Once connected, you can use natural-language prompts to ask ChatGPT to create posts, update pages, retrieve site information, and perform other approved WordPress actions. Every request is checked against your WordPress permissions, so ChatGPT only performs actions you are authorized to use.

Before you begin, ensure you have the following:

  • A self-hosted WordPress site running WordPress 6.9 or later.
  • A publicly accessible HTTPS website. Local or private URLs are not supported.
  • The free miniOrange Secure MCP Connector plugin installed and activated on your WordPress site.
  • In your WordPress admin dashboard, go to Plugins, then the Add New button.
  • Search for miniOrange Secure MCP Server, click Install Now, then Activate.
