Connect ChatGPT with WordPress Abilities API

Overview

Enable Developer Mode in ChatGPT to set up OAuth authentication, you can securely integrate ChatGPT with your WordPress site and permit it to access and perform supported Abilities APIs.

Once the connection is established, you can activate the Abilities API within the miniOrange SAML SSO Plugin and verify real time operations directly through ChatGPT, such as fetching the Service Provider metadata and other configured features.

Pre-requisites : Download And Installation

Before you set up the ChatGPT Integration with WordPress Abilities API, make sure you have the following:

• WordPress version 6.9 or higher installed and running
• MCP Adapter Plugin downloaded from Composer or GitHub
• LLM OAuth Connector Plugin installed on your WordPress site
• Access to ChatGPT Go or higher versions

Configuration Steps

Step 1: Install and Configure the MCP Adapter Plugin

• Download the MCP Adapter Plugin from Composer or from the GitHub release page.
• Log in to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.
• Navigate to Plugins and click Add New.
• Upload and activate the MCP Adapter Plugin.

Step 2: Install the LLM OAuth Connector Plugin

• Download the LLM OAuth Connector Plugin.
• Go to Plugins in your WordPress dashboard.
• Click Add New and upload the plugin.
• Activate the plugin once installation is complete.

Step 3: Enable Developer Mode in ChatGPT

• Open ChatGPT and click on your profile icon at the bottom left corner and select Settings.

• Navigate to the Apps tab and click on Advanced Settings.

• Enable Developer mode.

• After enabling the toggle, Create App button will be displayed at the top-right corner of the modal. Click the button to create a new app.

Step 4: Configure the ChatGPT App for WordPress

• Enter a Name for your App.
• In the MCP Server URL field, enter: <wp-site-url>/wp-json/mcp/mcp-adapter-default-server
• Select OAuth as the Authentication method.

• Go to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.
• Navigate to Settings and open LLM OAuth Connector.
• Copy the Client ID and Client Secret.

• Paste the Client ID and Client Secret into the ChatGPT App configuration.
• Click Create.
• You will be redirected to the WordPress login page.
• Log in using Admin credentials to test the Abilities API in the miniOrange SAML SSO Plugin. After successful login, authorize LLM access.

• Once authorization is completed, the App will be successfully connected.

Step 5: Testing the Abilities API

• Install and activate the miniOrange SAML SSO Plugin.
• Navigate to the Abilities API submenu and enable the Abilities API option.

• Open a new chat in ChatGPT.
• Click on the + (plus) icon.
• From the More dropdown, select your configured App.
• Enter a query such as: Show SP Metadata URL in WordPress site

ChatGPT will return the SAML SP Metadata URL. You can verify this value in the Service Provider Metadata tab inside the miniOrange SAML SSO Plugin.
