Follow these steps to configure SMS Gateway Request types

1. Basic Authorization

Basic authorization grants access to a system or resource based on user-provided credentials, usually a username and password sent via HTTP headers. The server verifies these credentials against an authorized user list. Access is granted if the credentials match; otherwise, it's denied.

  • Navigate to the OTP Verification plugin from the left side menu.
  • Go to the Gateway Settings tab and select SMS gateway request type as Basic Authorization from the dropdown.
  • WordPress SMS Gateway Request - click OTP Verification plugin
  • All the necessary details for configuring the Basic Authorization gateway type are accessible from the dashboard of the gateway you use.
  • Enter the Gateway URL, Username, Password, and Post parameters in the gateway settings.
  • Note: Replace message and phone parameters in your SMS Gateway URL with ##message## and ##phone## respectively.

  • Then click on the Save Settings button.
  • WordPress SMS Gateway Request - Enter Username Password
  • You have successfully configured the Basic Authorization SMS gateway request type.
  • Click here to check how to test the gateway configuration.

2. Gateway URL

A gateway URL is a request type used to access external services or resources through a designated endpoint. When a client sends a request to this URL, it triggers communication with the gateway server. This server processes the request and facilitates the exchange of information between the client and the external service.

  • Navigate to the OTP Verification plugin from the left side menu.
  • Go to the Gateway Settings tab and select SMS Gateway Request type as Gateway URL from the dropdown.
  • WordPress SMS Gateway Request - Click Gateway settings
  • Select the POST or GET method based on your gateway type.
  • All the necessary details for configuring the gateway are accessible from the dashboard of the gateway you use.
  • Enter the gateway URL of your gateway in the Gateway Settings tab.
  • Note: Replace message and phone parameters in your SMS Gateway URL with ##message## and ##phone## respectively.

  • Then click on the Save Settings button.
  • WordPress SMS Gateway Request - Select SMS gateway URL method
  • You have successfully configured the Gateway URL SMS gateway request type.
  • Click here to check how to test the gateway configuration.

3. Post Request

Post-request Gateway Type indicates that the authentication process is initiated after the client sends a POST request to the designated Gateway URL.

  • Navigate to the OTP Verification plugin from the left side menu.
  • Go to the Gateway Settings tab and select SMS Gateway Request type as Post Request from the dropdown.
  • WordPress SMS Gateway Request - Select gateway request type
  • All the necessary details for configuring the Post Request gateway type are accessible from the dashboard of the gateway you use.
  • Please copy the Gateway URL and Gateway Parameters from the gateway dashboard.
  • Navigate to the Gateway Settings tab within the OTP Verification plugin and input these details accordingly.
  • Note: Replace message and phone parameters in your SMS Gateway URL with ##message## and ##phone## respectively.

  • Then click on the Save Settings button.
  • WordPress SMS Gateway Request - Click save settings
  • You have successfully configured the Gateway URL SMS gateway request type.
  • Click here to check how to test the gateway configuration.

4. Twilio Gateway

The Twilio SMS Gateway is a service that lets businesses send and receive text messages using Twilio's API. It helps automate sending notifications, alerts, marketing messages, and verification codes to customers' phones worldwide.

  • Click here to configure your Twilio SMS Gateway.

5. Test SMS Gateway configuration
