guide to configure Single Sign-On (SSO) into Shopify using Twitter as IdP (Identity Provider) and Shopify store

Pre-requisite : Single Sign On - SSO Application
To configure SSO with Twitter as IDP, you will need to install the miniOrange Single Sign On - SSO login Application on your Shopify store:

Step by Step guide for Configuring Twitter as IDP for SSO into Shopify
Step 1: Configure Twitter as OAuth 2.0 Provider in Shopify.

Go to your Shopify store and click on Setup IDP button in the top left in navigation bar.

From the left navigation bar select Identity Provider. Select OAuth.
- Select Twitter from the dropdown.
- Add any display name you like, Eg: miniOrange

- Enter the following values.
- Enable Send Client Credentials in Header, Show IDP to users and Enable for EndUser Login.
- You can also do attribute mapping as per your preference.
- Click Save.
Step 2: Configure Shopify as Service Provider (SP) in Twitter
- Go to https://developer.twitter.com/en/apps
- Click on the overview in the left menu then click on NEW PROJECT.

- Enter Name, Select the best description, Project name and Enter App name where you get your access keys and tokens and set permissions.

- Click on the App name in the left menu then Enable 3rd Party AuthenticationThen, Enter Callback URLs and Website URLs (from your miniOrange social login plugin).

- If you want to get the email address as well, then don’t forget to enable the Request email address from users option.Then, Enter your Privacy Policy URL in the Privacy Policy URL field and Enter your Terms of Service URL in
the Terms of Service URL. Then, click on the Save button to save your configurations.

- Now go to Keys and Tokens Click on View Keys. Here are your API keys and API Secret key.

- Copy your API key and Secret and save them in your miniOrange social login plugin (under client id and client secret field respectively).

3. Testing SSO for your Shopify Store
- Go to your Shopify Store login page.(https://<your-shopify-storedomain>/account/login)
- Click on the login button you customized earlier.
- You’ll be redirected to the login page of the Twitter you configured in previous step. Log in with your Twitter account credentials.
- You’ll be successfully logged in to your Shopify store.
