Shopify OAuth Single Sign-On (SSO) using Line as an Identity Provider

miniOrange lets users perfom Single Sign-On (SSO) into Shopify using Line credentials with the help of Shopify Single Sign-On (SSO) application. Our app is compatible with all the SAML / OAuth-compliant identity providers. We will go through the below step-by-step guide to configure Single Sign-On (SSO) into Shopify using Line as IdP (Identity Provider) and Shopify store as SP (Service Provider).

The Shopify SSO plugin offers advanced features such as attribute mapping and role mapping. Additionally, it offers complete protection for your Shopify store using Single Sign-On (SSO). Line OAuth SSO enhances user authentication and secures the login process effectively.

To configure SSO into Shopify using Line as an identity provider (IdP), you will need to install the miniOrange Shopify Single Sign-On - SSO Login Application on your store.

Follow the step-by-step guide for Single Sign-On in Shopify store using Line as an identity provider.

  • Go to your Shopify store, navigate to the App section, and click on Single Sign On - SSO login application.

  • Click on the Add Identity Provider button to add your IdP.

  • Select OAuth 2.0 protocol.

  • Now choose Custom IdP from the list of identity providers (IdPs).

  • Copy the OAuth Callback URL and keep it handy as it will be used in further steps.

  • Visit the Line Developers Console.
  • Either Sign up or Log in with your existing Line Developer account.
  • As a channel type, choose LINE login through the dropdown.

  • Fill in all the required details and make sure to select Web app under App Types.

  • Tick the checkbox of the Line developers agreement and then click on the Create button.

  • Navigate to the Line Login tab.

  • Add the OAuth Callback URL from the Shopify SSO application noted in step 1.

  • Click on the Basic Setting tab, copy the Channel ID and Channel Secret from the basic information section.
  • We will use this Channel ID and Channel Secret for further configuration.

You've successfully configured Shopify Single Sign-On (SSO) with Line as an OAuth Provider. You can now allow users to use Shopify SSO login into your Shopify store with their Line credentials.

  • Navigate back to the miniOrange Single Sign On-SSO application and click on Add identity Provider button.

  • Select OAuth 2.0 protocol.

  • From the list of identity providers (IdPs), select Custom IdP.

  • Fill out the following fields by referring the below table.

IdP Display Name Choose appropriate name
Client ID Channel ID
Client Secret Channel Secret
Authorize Endpoint

https://<url_based_on_idp>/authorize

Access Token Endpoint https://<url_based_on_idp>/token
User Info Endpoint https://<url_based_on_idp>/getuserinfo

  • After saving the identity provider (IdP) configuration, you will be redirected to Test Connection step.
  • Please perform Test Connection before mapping or fetching attributes, test connection ensures that your identity provider (IdP) configuration is correct.
  • Click on the Test Connection button.

  • On entering valid Line credentials you will see a pop-up window which is shown in the below screen.

  • Click on the Fetch Attributes button to fetch the identity provider (IdP) attribute.

  • Click on the + Attribute Mapping button to map attributes between Shopify and Line.

  • Map the attributes by refering the table below:

Attribute Name in Shopify Choose the attribute from the list of predefined attributes
Attribute Type IdP Attribute
Attribute Value Select the attribute value you have fetched from your IdP
  • Click on Save.
