Configure real-time WordPress - Tableau Online user provisioning using SCIM. Our WordPress (WP) SCIM plugin allows you to automate user creation, update and delete user information from the WordPress (WP) site to your Tableau Online in real time. This guide will enable you to configure SCIM user provisioning for your Tableau Online site using WordPress as the Identity Provider, to achieve seamless automated user sync between your WordPress site and Tableau Online .

• Push New Users : New users created through WordPress will also be created in the Tableau Online site.
• Push Profile Updates (Premium Feature): Updates made to the user's profile through WordPress will be pushed to the Tableau Online site
• Push User Deactivation (Premium Feature): Deleting your users in your WordPress (WP) site will automatically delete the same user from Tableau Online site as well.

Follow the steps below for configuring WordPress (WP) SCIM user provisioning in Tableau Online

Step 1: Configure Tableau Online for SCIM provisioning

• Go to Tableau Online portal and login with the administrator account.
• You will be presented with the home screen of Tableau Online .

• In the left panel, click on the Settings tab.

• Under, the Aunthentication tab scroll down to the Automatic Provisioning and Group Synchronization (SCIM) section and select Enable SCIM option.
• You will get the Base URL and Secret token keep that handy as it will be used to configure the SCIM Client in the user provisioning plugin.

Step 2: Configure WP SCIM user provisioning plugin

• Navigate to the SCIM Client tab of the SCIM User Provisioning plugin.

• Click on Add SCIM Configuration.
• Now paste the SCIM Base URL and Bearer token that you copied from Tableau Online and click on Save.

• Navigate to the user's tab in your WordPress site and add a New User.

• Provide the required information.

• Note: Only “Activated” users are synced to Tableau Online if you have enabled “Self-registration” on your WordPress.
• Switch to the tableau console and under the Users tab, you can see the user that you have created at the WordPress site is synced on Tableau site as well.
