Sisense Single Sign-On Login using WordPress as IDP

Single Sign-On (SSO) solution by miniOrange provides secure Single Sign-On access into Sisense using a single set of login credentials. miniOrange SAML IDP for WordPress ( WP as SAML IDP ) plugin gives you the ability to use your WordPress credentials to log into Sisense. Here we will go through a step-by-step guide to configure SSO between, Sisense as Service Provider and WordPress as an Identity Provider.

To integrate the WordPress site as an Identity Provider, you will need to install the miniOrange SAML IDP for WordPress ( WP as SAML IDP ) Plugin:

  • Open the WordPress site.
  • Install and activate the miniOrange SAML IDP for WordPress ( WP as SAML IDP ) plugin on your WordPress site which is acting as Identity Provider.
  • Go to the SAML IDP plugin for WordPress, navigate to the IDP Metadata tab. Here, you can find the Identity Provider Metadata URL or you can Download the Metadata File.
  • You will find IDP Entity ID, SAML Login URL, SAML Logout URL (Premium Feature), Certificate. You would need these to configure the Service Provider(Sisense).

  • To setup Sisense as the Service Provider, go to the Sisense Web Application, and select the Admin > Single Sign On.

  • In the Single Sign On page, activate SSO and click Edit.

  • Enter the values by referring to the table below.
Remote Login URL Enter the SAML Login URL from the IDP Metadata tab of SAML IDP Plugin for WordPress.
Log Out URL Enter the SAML Logout URL(Premium feature) from the IDP Metadata tab of SAML IDP Plugin for WordPress.
Public X.509 Certificate Download certificate from the IDP Metadata tab of SAML IDP Plugin for WordPress and paste it's contents here.
  • In the SAML IDP plugin for WordPress, navigate to the Service Provider tab and enter the values corresponding to the information from Sisense.
Service Provider Name Name of your Service Provider.
SP Entity ID or Issuer Copy and paste the SP-EntityID from Sisense.
ACS URL Copy and paste the ACS URL from Sisense.
NameID Format urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:1.1:nameid-format:emailAddress

  • Click on the Save button to save your configuration.

In WordPress:

  • In the SAML IDP plugin for WordPress,navigate to the Attribute/Role Mapping tab.
  • In the User Attributes section, enter the following information and click Save.
  • Click on + sign to add attributes.
Name User Meta Data
Email Claim user_email
First Name Claim first_name
Last Name Claim last_name
