Tovuti LMS is one of the world's fastest growing learning management systems. You can now Single Sign-On (SSO) / Login into Tovuti LMS using WordPress as Identity provider (IdP) with Login using WordPress Users ( WP as SAML IDP ) plugin. Our plugin gives you the ability to use your WordPress (WP) credentials to Single Sign-On (SSO) / Login into Tovuti LMS. Here we will go through a step-by-step guide to configure SSO between Tovuti LMS as Service Provider (SP) and WordPress as an Identity Provider (IdP).

Pre-requisites: Download And Installation

To integrate the WordPress site as an Identity Provider, you will need to install the miniOrange Login using WordPress Users ( WP as SAML IDP ) plugin:

Single Sign-On (SSO) login with WordPress Users into any Service Provider like Tableau, Zoho, Zoom, Moodle, Canvas LMS, Absorb LMS, TalentLMS, etc.

 Tested with 6.3.1

Follow the Step-by-Step Guide given below for Tovuti LMS Single Sign On (SSO)

1. Setup Tovuti LMS as SP (Service Provider)

  • Login to the WordPress site as Admin.
  • Go to the WordPress IDP plugin, navigate to the IDP Metadata tab.
  • Here, you can find the Identity Provider Metadata URL /XML Metadata or endpoints like IDP Entity ID, SAML Login URL, SAML Logout URL (Premium Feature), Certificate for SP configuration.

  • Configure SAML SSO in Tovuti lms (SP) with WordPress - Tovuti lms Single Sign on
  • Login to your Tovuti LMS domain as an Account Administrator.
  • Select People Tab from the left pane.

  • Click on Single Sign On in the left pane.

  • Click on New to add new User.
  • Tovuti LMS SSO login using Wordpress
  • Under the Details Tab give the SSO configuration a Title. Also make sure that the Published toggle is set to Yes.
  • Click on the Identity Provider Settings Tab to enter the required information.

  • Identity Provider Issuer Provide the IDP-EntityID / Issuer from IDP metadata tab of the WordPress miniOrange Plugin
    Identity Provider Single Sign-on URL Provide the SAML Login URL from IDP metadata tab of the WordPress miniOrange Plugin
    X.509 Certificate Provide the data from IDP metadata tab of the WordPress miniOrange Plugin

  • Click on Update to complete the configuration.

2. Configure WordPress (WP) as IdP (Identity Provider)

  • You would need Entity ID , ACS URL from Tovuti LMS to configure your Identity Provider.
  • You can find this information under the Service Provider Settings Tab.

  • Login to the WordPress site.
  • Install and activate the Login using WordPress Users ( WP as SAML IDP ) plugin on your WordPress site which is acting as Identity Provider.
  • Go to the WordPress IDP plugin, navigate to the Service Providers tab.
  • Enter the values corresponding to the information from Tovuti LMS. Refer to the table below.
  • Service Provider Name Tovuti
    SP Entity ID or Issuer Copy and paste the SP-EntityID from Tovuti LMS
    ACS URL Copy and paste the ACS URL from Tovuti LMS
    NameID Format urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:1.1:nameid-format:emailAddress

  • Click on the Save button to save your configuration.

3. Attribute Mapping (This is a premium feature)

  • In the WordPress IDP plugin, navigate to the Attribute/Role Mapping tab.
  • In the User Attributes section, enter the following information and click on Save .
  • You can also add more attributes by clicking on + sign to add attributes.
  • Name User Meta Data
    FirstName first_name
    LastName last_name

    In Tovuti LMS:
  • Navigate to User Profile Field Mapping tab to map the Attributes.
  • Profile Field IDP Attribute
    FirstName first_name

  • Attribute Mapping helps you to get User attributes from your Identity Provider and map them to Tovuti user attributes like FirstName, LastName etc.
  • While auto registering the users in your Tovuti site these attributes will automatically get mapped to your Tovuti user details.
  • User Group Mapping for Tovuti LMS (Optional)
  • Navigate to Group Mapping Tab and assign a Default User Group from the dropdown.
  • Provide the values in User Group and IDP Group/Role Identifier according to roles assign to the user in the plugin.

    Enable Login Link
  • Navigate to Details Tab and click on Yes to Add login link to Navigation menu.
  • Select the menu that you want the link to appear on and give the link a name.
