Joomla OAuth Client Integration with Discord Single Sign-On (SSO)
Facilitate secure login to Joomla by seamlessly integrating Discord Single Sign-on (SSO) through OAuth 2.0 Protocol
using the miniOrange Joomla OAuth / OpenID Connect Single Sign-on (SSO) plugin. This enables users
to access the Joomla site effortlessly by authenticating with their Discord OAuth provider credentials.
After clicking on the New Application button it will show you the popup for providing a name to
the application. Click on the Create button after providing the application name.
To get the Client ID and Client Secret navigate to OAuth2 Section. Copy the Client ID and Client Secret.
Note: To obtain the Client Secret after creating your client for the first time you will have to reset the Client Secret.
Click on the Add Redirect button, Copy the Callback URL
from the Joomla OAuth Client plugin and paste it in the Redirects field. Click on the Save Changes button.
Now go to Configure OAuth tab of Joomla OAuth Client Plugin. Then paste the Client ID and Client Secret and Endpoints. Then click on Save Settings.
All the details saved successfully then click on Test Configuration.

3. User Attribute
User Attribute Mapping is mandatory for enabling users to successfully login into Joomla. We will be setting
up user profile attributes for Joomla using below settings.
Click on Test Configuration button, you will see all the values returned by your OAuth Provider to

Now go to do Attribute Mapping tab. Here you can map all the Attribute Mapping details in the given
4. Role/Group Mapping
Go to the Role Mapping tab. Here you can Enable Role Mapping and select
default groups for new users.
Based on your provider application, you can allocate the Joomla role to your provider roles.
5. Login Settings
Now you can use Login / SSO URL to perform SSO.
Now logout and go to your Joomla site's pages where you have added this link. You will see a login link
you placed that button. Click on this button to perform SSO.
Go to the Login/Logout Settings tab. Here, you can configure user login/logout behavior for
your Joomla application.
