Configure miniOrange Single Sign-On (SSO) with Joomla OAuth Client Plugin

Overview

This guide will walk you through configuring our Joomla OAuth Client extension to enable secure login with miniOrange. By the end of this setup, your users will be able to sign into your Joomla site using their miniOrange credentials, providing a seamless and secure Single Sign-On (SSO) experience.

This integration delegates the authentication process to miniOrange, a robust identity platform. This means you can centralize user management and utilize miniOrange's advanced security features directly for your Joomla site. Our extension acts as the bridge, handling the complex OAuth 2.0 protocol behind the scenes.

Configuration Steps

This guide will walk you through configuring our Joomla OAuth Client extension to connect with miniOrange as your Identity Provider (IdP). This setup enables secure Single Sign-On (SSO), allowing your users to log into your Joomla site using their existing miniOrange credentials.

This integration is designed for organizations that use miniOrange as their central identity and access management solution.

Step 2: Configure miniOrange as OAuth Server

• Go to your miniOrange Dashboard.
• From the left menu, go to Apps -> Manage Apps.

• In the upper right corner, select Add Application.

• Navigate to OAuth/OIDC card, click on Create App.

• Select Joomla.

• Enter the Callback URL that we copied earlier in the given field.

• For adding the policy for OAuth App, select Group Name as Default and enter the Policy Name of your choice, and select Login Method as Password.
• Then click on the Save button.

• Now, go to Apps > Manage Apps > Your app > Select > Edit. Then copy the Client ID and Client Secret.

Step 3: Configure Joomla as OAuth Client

• Go back to your Joomla Dashboard. Then go to Step 2 [Client ID & Secret].
• Paste the Client ID, Client Secret and Domain. Also Set Client Credentials In Header and Body then click on Save Settings. Once Settings are saved then click on Save Configuration.

• Scope & Endpoints are given below, which are required for configuring Joomla as OAuth Client plugin to configure miniOrange as a custom OAuth or OIDC provider.
