Joomla OAuth Client Integration with Intuit Single Sign-On (SSO)

Integration of Intuit Single Sign-on (Intuit SSO) with Joomla using OAuth 2.0 Protocol. Pre-requisites : Download And Installation

Setup Intuit as OAuth Provider with Joomla OAuth Client

1. Download and Setup Joomla OAuth Client

  • Download the zip file for the miniOrange OAuth Client plugin for Joomla from the given link.
  • Login into your Joomla site’s administrator console.
  • From left toggle menu, click on System, then under Install section click on Extensions.

  • Upload the downloaded zip file to install the Joomla OAuth Client plugin.

  • After successful installation of plugin, click on Start Using miniOrange OAuth Client plugin button.

  • Under Configure OAuth tab. Select Intuit as an OAuth Provider.

  • Copy the Callback/Redirect URL from Configure OAuth tab of Joomla OAuth Client plugin.

2. Configure Intuit as OAuth Provider

  • Go to developer portal and sign up/login.

  • Go to menu at the top and select Dashboard.

  • In the Dashboard create a new app by clicking the + Create an App button, under Apps tab.

  • Select QuickBooks Online and Payments.

  • Give your app a Name and select Accounting from the Select Scopes dropdown. Select the team that you want to create your App in. Then click on Create App button.
    Note: you need permission from the team admin to create apps for a team.

  • Once you have created an App you can view its details from the Dashboard.

  • If you are using your application in the sandbox environment then select the Development section and for the Production environment, select the Production section. Here we have selected the Development environment.
  • Under Development, select Keys and OAuth tab. You will get Client ID and Client Secret. Copy those and save it on your miniOrange OAuth Client plugin Configuration.

  • Enter Redirect URIs which is copied from here and click on the Save button.

3. Integrating Joomla with Intuit

  • Go back to your Joomla Dashboard. Then go to Components.
  • Now go to the Joomla OAuth Client plugin, under Configure OAuth tab, enter the all the details. Then click on Save Settings and then click on Test Configuration.

    Intuit Application Endpoints and Scope:

    Client ID : Click Here
    Client Secret : Click Here
    Scope: openid email profile
    Authorize Endpoint:
    Access Token Endpoint:
    Get User Info Endpoint: (Sandbox/Development Environment)
    (Production Environment)
    Set Client Credentials: In Both (In Header and In Body)

4. Test SSO and Attribute Mapping

  • Once you click on Test Configuration button, You will be able to see the attributes in the Test Configuration output as follows.
  •  Intuit Single Sign-On (SSO) OAuth/OpenID
  • Now you have to do Attribute Mapping to perform SSO. Select the attribute name for Email and Username from dropdown. Then click on Save Attribute Mapping button.

  • Now you can use Login / SSO URL to perform SSO.

  • Now logout and go to your Joomla site's pages where you have added this link. You will see a login link where you placed that button. Click on this button to perform SSO.
