How to setup OTP Verification for Ultimate Member Registration Form?

Ultimate Member helps you create advanced user profiles, communities, and membership sites on WordPress. With the OTP Verification Plugin, you can verify users' phone numbers or email addresses by sending a one-time passcode before they complete registration. This guide will walk you through the steps to enable OTP verification on your Ultimate Member Registration Form.

Let's explore how to setup Ultimate Member Registration form for the OTP Verification plugin.

You can verify the Users through the Phone or Email verification method.

  • Go to the Forms tab in the OTP Verification plugin, then search and select Ultimate Member Registration Form from the list.

  • Select this checkbox to enable the Ultimate Member Registration Form.

  • Enable Phone Verification and click on Click here to see your list of forms.
  • To prevent users from using the same phone number across multiple accounts, select the checkbox 'Do not allow users to use the same phone number for multiple accounts'.

  • Edit your Registration form and add a new Mobile Number field from the list of predefined fields.

  • Edit the Mobile Number field and note the Meta Key.
  • Then, click on the Update button.

  • Now go to the Forms Settings page and enter the Phone User Meta Key.
  • To prevent users from using the same phone number across multiple accounts, select the checkbox 'Do not allow users to use the same phone number for multiple accounts'.
  • Then, click on the Save Settings button.

  • Go to your Ultimate Member Registration form page, fill in all the required fields, and click the Register button.

  • Users will be shown a pop-up to verify, and an OTP will be sent to their phone number.
  • Enter the OTP and click on the Validate OTP button.

  • The user will be successfully registered into their account after the OTP verification is completed.


On-Page Verification

In this setting, the user can be verified directly on the form without showing a pop-up.

  • Select the checkbox ‘Do not show a popup. Validate the user on the form itself’.
  • click on Click here to see your list of forms.

  • Add Verification code field and Enter the field title and label, then add any Meta Key of your choice and make a note of it.
  • Then, click on the Add button.

  • Now go to the Forms Settings page and enter the Verification Field Meta Key.
  • Enter the text you want to use for the verification button and click on the Save Settings button.

  • Go to your Ultimate Member Registration form page, fill in all the required fields.
  • Enter your phone number with the country code and click the Click Here to Send OTP button.

  • Enter the OTP received on your phone and click the Register button.

  • The user will be successfully registered into their account after the OTP verification is completed.
  • Enable the radio button for Email Verification.
  • Then, click on the Save Settings button.

  • Edit your Registration form and add an Email field from the list of predefined fields, if it is not already added.

  • Go to your Ultimate Member Registration form page, fill in all the required fields, and click the Register button.

  • Users will be shown a pop-up to verify, and an OTP will be sent to your email.
  • Enter the OTP and click on the Validate OTP button.

  • The user will be successfully registered into their account after the OTP verification is completed.

  • Enter the OTP received on your email and click the Register button.

  • The user will be successfully registered into their account after the OTP verification is completed.

In this setting, during registration, the user will see both Phone Verification and Email Verification options and can choose either method to complete the verification.

  • Enable the radio button for option ‘Let the User Choose’.
  • click on Click here to see your list of forms.
