Joomla OAuth Client Integration with Paypal Single Sign-On (SSO)

Pre-requisites : Download And Installation

Setup Paypal as OAuth Provider with Joomla OAuth Client

1. Download and Setup Joomla OAuth Client

  • Download the zip file for the miniOrange OAuth Client plugin for Joomla.
  • Login into your Joomla site’s administrator console.
  • From left toggle menu, click on System, then under Install section click on Extension.
  • Upload the downloaded zip file to install the Joomla OAuth Client plugin.
  • Installation of the plugin is successful. Now click on Start Using miniOrange OAuth Client plugin.
  • Under Configure OAuth tab. Select Paypal as an OAuth Provider.

  • Copy the Callback / Redirect URL which is needed while configuring Paypal as OAuth Server.

2. Configure Paypal as OAuth Provider

  • First of all, go to Paypal and log into your Paypal account.
  • You will be presented with the Application Management Page. Scroll down to REST API apps and click on Create App.

  • You will be shown a form where you have to enter Application Name and Sandbox Developer Account. Fill the form with appropriate information. Then Click on Create App.

  • You will be brought back to Application Management page. Here you can find Client ID and Secret.

  • Copy these credentials and keep it handy because you will need it in the next step.
  • Scroll Down to Sandbox App Settings. Fill Callback/Redirect URL from miniOrange Oauth Client plugin which you copied in the last step. Then Click on + or press Enter.

3. Integrating Joomla with Paypal

  • Go back to your Joomla Dashboard. Then go to Components.
  • Now go to the Joomla OAuth Client plugin, under Configure OAuth tab, enter the all the details. Then click on Save Settings and then click on Test Configuration.

    Authorize EndPoint: https://www.paypal.com/signin/authorize
    Access Token Endpoint: https://api.paypal.com/v1/oauth2/token
    Get User Info Endpoint: https://api.paypal.com/v1/identity/oauth2/userinfo
    Set Client Credentials: In Header
