Configure Strava Single Sign-On (SSO) with Joomla OAuth Client Plugin

Overview

Integration of Strava Single Sign-on (Strava SSO) with Joomla using OAuth 2.0 Protocol. The miniOrange Joomla OAuth/OpenID Connect Single Sign-on (SSO) plugin makes it simple to set up Strava SSO into Joomla and enable secure login into Joomla. As a result, users can log in to Joomla and access the site by authenticating with their Strava OAuth Provider credentials.

Configuration Steps

In this configuration, Strava functions as the OAuth server, while Joomla allows users to log in with their Strava credentials by utilizing the Joomla OAuth Client Plugin.

Step 2: Configure Strava as OAuth Server

• Log into your Strava account.
• Select Create & Manage Your App to create a new App.

• Enter your application details. Paste the Callback URL/Redirect URl which is copied from here.

• Click on the Create button to save your configurations.
• Upload an app icon by clicking on the + shown in the image (below).

• Click on the SAVE button to save your settings.

Step 3: Configure Client ID & Secret

• You will now be redirected to a page where you will find your app's Client ID, Client Secret as well as your APP Token.
• Click on the show option next to your client secret and copy your Client Secret as well as Client ID and then save in your OAuth Client's Configurations.

• Go back to your Joomla Dashboard. Then go to Step 2 [Client ID & Secret].
• Paste the Client ID, Client Secret and Domain. Also Set Client Credentials In header then click on Save Settings. Once Settings are saved then click on Save Configuration.

• Scope & Endpoints are given below, which are required for configuring Joomla as OAuth Client plugin to configure Strava as a custom OAuth or OIDC provider.
