Connect Shopify with Brightspace to enroll user for Shopify purchase

This guide will guide you through each step of the process, ensuring seamless and efficient integration between Shopify and Brightspace LMS.

Pre-requisites: SyncUP - Course Sync Application

To integrate user sync between Shopify and Brightspace LMS, you will need to add the miniOrange: SyncUP - Course Sync Application on your Shopify store.

Configuration Steps

Step by Step guide for integrating your Shopify Store and Brightspace LMS

Step 1: Add application to your Store

• Install Shopify SyncUP - Course Sync Application by clicking on the Add App button in the Shopify App Store.

• Click on the Install app button at the right-top or bottom of the screen.

• Go to your Shopify store, click on the Apps tab, and select SyncUP: Course Sync application.

• Click on the Configure button under the LMS Integration tab.

• Select Brightspace for LMS integration with Shopify.

Step 2: Configure Brightspace in Shopify SyncUp Application

• Navigate to the Brightspace section in the SyncUp application and enable the Enroll Course option as shown below.
• To integrate Shopify with Brightspace LMS, you will require Brightspace URL, Client ID, and Client Secret from the Brightspace LMS site.

• Note: The Brightspace URL is the web address of your site. For example; johndoe.brightspace.com

Step 3: Register Brightspace Application

• Login to your Brightspace LMS site and click on Settings Icon. Click on the Manage Extensibility button.

• Under OAuth 2.0 tab, click on Register an App.

• Fill in the required details to register an application.

• Now, click on Register.
• Take note of Client ID and Client Secret and paste it in the miniOrange course sync application.

• After pasting the Client ID, Client Secret and Brightspace URL in the miniOrange Course Sync application, click on Save.

• Upon saving, the Refresh Token field will appear, click on the Generate button.
• A pop up would appear from Brightspace, asking, "Would you like the following app to operate using your account?".
• Click on Accept.
• You can see that the refresh token has been generated successfully.

Step 4: Map Shopify Products with Brightspace Courses

• Click on the + Add Mapping button to map your Shopify Product with the Brightspace Course.

• Search for a product in the Shopify Product section.
• Now you need to retrieve the Course ID and Role ID from your Brightspace account.

• Note: If you want to map more Shopify Products with Brightspace Courses, click on the + Add Mapping sign.
• Scroll upwards, and click on Save.

Hence you have successfully mapped your Brightspace Courses with Shopify Products.
