Step by step Guide to set up SAML Single Sign-On (SSO) in Higher Logic with WordPress

1. Setup Higher Logic CMS as SP (Service Provider)

• Login to the WordPress site as Admin.
• Go to the WordPress IDP plugin, navigate to the IDP Metadata tab.
• Here, you can find the Identity Provider Metadata URL /XML Metadata or endpoints like IDP Entity ID, SAML Login URL, SAML Logout URL (Premium Feature), Certificate for SP configuration.

• Login to your Higher Logic CMS domain .
• To configure Single Sign On send an email to Higher Logic CMS Support team requesting them for the SP metadata.
• You would require the following endpoints:

Name of Identity Provider	WordPress
Issuer URL	Provide the IDP-Entity ID / Issuer value from IDP metadata tab of the WordPress IDP Plugin
SSO URL	Provide the SAML Login URL / Passive Login URL from IDP metadata tab of the WordPress IDP Plugin
Certificate	Provide the Certificate downloaded from the IDP metadata tab of the WordPress IDP Plugin

• The Higher Logic CMS Team will confirm your request by enabling the SSO in Higher Logic CMS and provide you with the SP metadata.

2. Configure WordPress (WP) as IdP (Identity Provider)

• You would need Entity ID , ACS URL from Higher Logic CMS .
• You can find this information after the Higher Logic CMS Support Team sends you the proper configuration.

 Instructions:

• Login to the WordPress site.
• Install and activate the Login using WordPress Users ( WP as SAML IDP ) plugin on your WordPress site which is acting as Identity Provider.
• Go to the WordPress IDP plugin, navigate to the Service Providers tab.
• Enter the values corresponding to the information from Higher Logic CMS. Refer to the table below.

Service Provider Name	Higher Logic CMS
SP Entity ID or Issuer	Copy and paste the SP-EntityID from Higher Logic CMS
ACS URL	Copy and paste the ACS URL from Higher Logic CMS
NameID Format	urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:1.1:nameid-format:emailAddress

• Click on the Save button to save your configuration.

3. Attribute Mapping (This is a premium feature)

• In the WordPress IDP plugin, navigate to the Attribute/Role Mapping tab.
• In the User Attributes section, enter the following information and click on Save .
• You can also add more attributes by clicking on + sign to add attributes.
