RingCentral SSO - Login using WordPress Users (WP as SAML IDP) Plugin enables Single Sign-On (SSO) login into RingCentral using WordPress Login credentials. In this guide we will Setup SAML Single Sign-On (SSO) with WordPress in RingCentral by configuring RingCentral as Service Provider (SP) and WordPress as Identity Provider (IDP).

Note: Premium Version of WP SAML IDP Plugin is required to set up SSO with RingCentral.

Pre-requisites: Download And Installation

To integrate the WordPress site as an Identity Provider, you will need to install the miniOrange Login using WordPress Users (WP as SAML IDP) plugin:

Guide to configure RingCentral Single Sign-On (SSO) Login with WordPress

1. Setup RingCentral as SP (Service Provider)

  • Go to the WordPress IDP plugin, navigate to the IDP Metadata tab.
  • Here, you can find here the Identity Provider Metadata URL /XML Metadata or endpoints like IDP Entity ID, SAML Login URL, SAML Logout URL (Premium Feature), Certificate for SP configuration.
  • Configure SAML SSO in RingCentral (SP) with WordPress - RingCentral SSO Login with WordPress
  • Open a new browser tab or window, Log in to your RingCentral account as Account Admin.
  • Navigate to More > Security and Compliance > Single Sign-on.
  • Navigate to single-sign-on - RingCentral SSO Login with WordPress
  • In the Set up SSO by yourself section, click on Edit.
  • Click on edit - RingCentral SSO Login with WordPress
  • In the Upload IDP Metadata, click drop down and select either Upload with file or URL. To upload Metadata File, choose the metadata file that you have already downloaded from the WordPress IdP, then click on Import.

  • In the Attribute Mapping section, select Custom from the Map Email Attribute to dropdown menu, then enter email in the field that appears.
  • Click on Save.

  • In the Set up SSO by yourself section, click Download to obtain your SP metadata.

  • Open the SP metadata XML file you just downloaded in a text editor and take note of the entityID and Location values.

  • Go back to Single Sign-on (SSO) tab in RingCentral, then follow the steps below.
    • Check Enable SSO Service.
    • Manage Your Login: Select your login type.
    • Click Save.

You have successfully configured RingCentral as Service Provider.

2. Configure WordPress (WP) as IdP (Identity Provider)

  • In the WordPress IDP plugin, navigate to the Service Provider tab and enter the values corresponding to the information from RingCentral.
  • Service Provider Name RingCentral
    SP Entity ID or Issuer Copy and paste the entityID from RingCentral's Metadata file
    ACS URL Copy and paste the Location from RingCentral's Metadata file
    NameID Format urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:1.1:nameid-format:emailAddress
    Assertion Signed Check to sign the SAML Assertion

  • Click on the Save button to save your configuration.

3. Attribute Mapping (This is a premium feature)

  • In the WordPress IDP plugin, navigate to the Attribute/Role Mapping tab.
  • In the User Attributes section, enter the following information and click on Save .
  • You can also add more attributes by clicking on + sign to add attributes.
  • Name User Meta data
    email user_email
    number phone
