SAP Litmos LMS SAML Single Sign-On (SSO) | Login into SAP Litmos LMS using WordPress

This set-up guide lets you configure SAP Litmos LMS SAML Single Sign-On (SSO). Login with WordPress as SAML IdP and SAP Litmos LMS as the Service Provider. Login using WordPress Users ( WP as SAML IDP ) plugin gives you the ability to use your WordPress credentials to log into SAP Litmos LMS. Here we will go through a step-by-step guide to configure SSO between SAP Litmos LMS as Service Provider and WordPress as an Identity Provider.

  • Login into SAP Litmos account.
  • Switch to Admin view.
  • Go to the Account and then Integrations.

  • Select SAML 2.0 (Single Sign On) app.

  • Then, Copy and paste the content of Metadata.xml that you have downloaded earlier.
  • Enable Autogenerate Users if you want Litmos to automatically create users if they do not yet exist when logging in via SAML. (Optional)
  • Copy the value under The SAML endpoint for litmos is: which will be later used in IDP configuration.

  • Click on the Save Changes Button.

  • Go to Wordpress IDP Plugin in Service Providers tab enter the following information into the corresponding fields.
Service Provider Name Litmos
SP Entity ID or Issuer Paste the SAML endpoint for litmos url that you copied earlier.
ACS URL Paste the SAML endpoint for litmos url that you copied earlier.
NameID Format urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:1.1:nameid-format: emailAddress

  • Click on the Save button to save your configuration.

    In WordPress:

  • In the WordPress IDP plugin,navigate to the Attribute/Role Mapping tab.
  • In the User Attributes section, enter the following information and click Save .
  • Click on + sign to add attributes.

Email user_email
FirstName first_name
LastName last_name

  • In order to verify if your configuration is correct, please initiate the login flow from your Service Provider (SAP Litmos LMS) in an incognito window.
  • You would be redirected to the WordPress Login Page.
  • If the plugin is configured correctly, you will be logged into your Service Provider (SAP Litmos LMS) successfully.
