Configure LockOn – Content Restriction application on your Shopify Store
The Shopify LockOn - Content Restriction application allows you to lock
your Shopify store and control who can access
your pages, products, and collections on your Shopify store. You can
restrict customers from accessing Shopify products/ pages/ blogs/ articles/
collections etc. based on their
Shopify tags/ logged-in status or location etc. Using this application you can prevent bots and spammers from accessing
your Shopify store, placing fake orders, or engaging in other malicious

Step-by-Step Guide for Configuring Shopify LockOn- Content Restriction
Application
After installing the LockOn- Content Restriction application on your
store, you can configure the lock by following the steps below:
1. Configure the Name of your lock.
Click on the Create Lock button as shown in the below screen. You
will be navigated to the New Lock screen where you can configure your
lock as needed.
Enter the name you'd like to give to your lock in the Name field.
2. Configure the Content for Locking
You have multiple options to choose from for content locking. These options
allow you to restrict access to selected content or grant users access to
specific parts of your store. You can choose to apply restrictions to the
entire store, specific pages, collections, etc. Understand each feature and
select the one that suits your needs. Choose any option below and follow the
provided steps:
If you want to secure your entire store, this feature is for you. It
enables you to lock your entire store, granting you control over who can
access it. You can choose to allow or restrict access based on certain
conditions, such as using a passcode or permitting only logged-in users,
etc. Follow the steps below to lock your entire store
Under the "What to lock" section you can select "Entire Store" option.
Selected Content (Free Plan)
Use this option to secure specific content of your store, such as Products
and Collections available under the Free Plan, and Blogs, Articles, and
Pages accessible under the Premium Plan. Follow the steps below to lock
Selected Content.
Under the " Content for Locking " section you can select "Selected Content" option.
You will now see various options like Products, Collections, etc
displayed as shown in the image below. To understand each feature,
review the following description and choose any option that best fits
your needs.
If you wish to restrict access to certain products, choose the
Products
option. Using the criteria you specify, the user will either be
granted or denied access to all of the products that you select.
To allow or restrict access to selected products, select
Products under What to lock section.
Choose the products you want to restrict or allow access to. Click
on Done.
Collections
If you want to restrict access to specific Collections in your Shopify
store, choose the
Collections
option. This will allow you to select the Collections that you want to
lock down. Based on the criteria you set, users will either be
permitted or denied access to the Collections you select.
To allow or restrict access to selected collections, select
Collections under What to lock section.
Choose the collections you want to restrict or allow access to.
Click on Save.
Blogs
If you want to lock specific Blogs, choose the
Blogs
option. Depending on the criteria, the User will either be permitted
or denied access to all the Blogs you are going to select.
To allow or restrict access to selected blogs, select
Blogs under What to lock section.
Search for the blog that you want to keep private or show to users
who meet the set requirements. Click on Done.
Pages
If you want to restrict access to specific Pages, choose the
Pages
option. This allows you to pick particular Pages to lock or unlock.
The User will then either be permitted or denied access to just those
Pages you selected, depending on the criteria set.
To allow or restrict access to selected pages, select
Pages under What to lock section.
Search for the Pages that you want to keep a locked or give access
to and click on Done.
Articles
To apply access restrictions to specific Articles, choose the
Articles
option. Based on your predefined criteria, users will either be
granted or denied access, ensuring that sensitive or premium content
is adequately protected and accessible only to target audiences/users.
Search for the articles that you want to keep secure and click on
Choose Articles.
Variants
If you want to restrict access to product variants, choose the
Variants option. This allows you to pick particular product variants
to be locked or unlocked. The user will then either be permitted or
denied access to just those variants you selected, depending on the
criteria set.
Search for the product variants that you want to keep secure and
click on
Choose Variants.
Prices (Free Plan)
Upon selecting this feature, you'll have the ability to hide product
prices on your store. Users who are restricted won't be able to view the
prices. Additionally, you can choose to display prices to users who have
met the lock criteria. Follow the steps below to lock Prices.
Under the " Content for Locking " section you can select
"Prices" option.
Add to Cart & Buy Now Button (Free Plan)
This lock for Shopify allows you to control who can buy certain products.
This feature is great for stores with special items or promotions. It
ensures that only certain customers, like VIPs, can quickly buy these
products. This helps make your store's special offers more exclusive and
appealing.
Under the "Content for Locking" section you can select "Add to Cart & Buy Now Button" option.
3. Configure the Lock Criteria
Users will be permitted or restricted from accessing the locked content if
they pass/fail this Lock Criteria.
Click on the Criteria button under Control Access section.
Select the Lock Criteria.
Logged-in user: Select this to create a lock based on Logged-In
users and Non-logged-in users.
Customer Tag: Select this to create a lock based on specific
customer tags.
Country: Select this to create a lock based on countries.
City: Select this to create a lock based on cities.
Passcode Lock: Select the passcode lock option to allow
authorized users to have the password to access the locked content in
the store.
Location: Select this to create a lock based on the location of
the users.
IP Address: Select this if you want to restrict or allow store
access based on IP addresses.
Selected Customer: Select this to create a lock by defining
customized criteria based on the customer object properties of Shopify.
Lock type for lock criteria: Based on the lock criteria you can
either allow or restrict users from accessing the content.
For example if you choose the lock criteria as customer tag, then you
can either allow or restrict users from accessing the content based on
their customer tag.
4. Configure the behavior of the Lock
You can specify how the locked content behaves for users who don't meet the
criteria defined above. Select the action from the list under the
Handle unauthorized Access section.

Redirect to the store page
Custom HTML Code
Redirect to another URL
Click on Save.
5. Configure the Lock Scheduling
Immediately: You can choose the Immediately option to make the lock
active immediately after creating the lock.
Schedule: If you want the lock to be active on specific days of a
week or a month then you can schedule the lock.
6. Configure modifications in the existing lock
You can see the list of all locks that you have created on the dashboard.
Edit Lock: To edit the lock, click on the Edit button in front
of your created lock.
Delete Lock: To delete the lock, click on the Delete button in
front of your created lock.
To create a new lock, click on the Create Lock button located in the
upper right corner.
7. Configure Magic Link
Magic Link lets you share access to a locked page on your Shopify store with
someone else easily. It is perfect for giving temporary access to specific
pages of your store, making it super convenient and secure.
Under Magic Links, click on Generate Magic Link.
Enter the locked page for which you want to provide temporary access for.
For example, let us provide access for "/pages/locked".
Decide how long the link should work. For example, you can make the link
valid for just 3 minutes or more, depending on your needs.
Click on Add.
Confirm the settings and click on Create.
Copy and send this magic link to anyone you want to give access to. They can
click on this link to directly access the locked page without needing any
password.
