Steps to Configure Steam Social Login into WordPress (WP)

Step 1: Configure Steam Social Login into Your WordPress

Follow the steps below to configure Steam login in WordPress

  • Steam profiles that are Limited User Accounts are not allowed to access the Steam Web API. To learn more about Limited User Accounts and how to overcome them please visit the following page:

  • To access your Steam Web API Key go to Steam developers console at https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey and Sign up/Login with your Steam account.

  • Enter Domain Name (from miniOrange Social Login Plugin). Click on the checkbox that appears to agree to Steam Web API Terms of Use . Click on Register to access your Steam Web API key.

2. Set credentials in miniOrange Social Login Plugin

  • Go to miniOrange Social Login Plugin → Click on Configure Apps → click on Steam :

  • Copy the Steam Web API Key and paste it as App ID.

  • Enter _blank in the App secret field.
  • Enter Profile in the scope field.
  • Then click on Save & Test Configuration button.
    • Save and test configuration for WP steam login
  • If you aren’t already logged in, please log in to Steam.
    • Login to steam to enable WP steam login
  • A notification from the plugin that the test was successful will be shown. That means your Steam custom app was set properly.
    • Test configuration successful to connect with steam web API
  • Now, You can see the Steam Social Login button is enabled on your WordPress Website. This will allow users to connect to your website using Steam.
