How to prevent account sharing/restrict concurrent sessions in WordPress with the Session Restrictions Feature?

Follow these steps to Session Restrictions on WordPress :

  • Go to WordPress instance and log in as an administrator.
  • Click on the Device Settings tab from the navigation.
  • Session Restriction – restrict

    Method 1 – Follow these steps to set Session Restriction and allow access to a new logged-in user

  • Select the Enable Session Restriction Option check box.
  • Now, enter the number of devices that you want to be logged in simultaneously.
  • After clicking Allow Access, a user will be able to log in, but all other active sessions will be terminated when the limit is reached.
  • Please click on the Save Settings button.
  •  Session Restriction – Allow access to user login
  • We have successfully configured session restriction settings.
  •  Session Restriction –   Allow access configured successfully
  • Enter your WordPress credentials by clicking on the login button.
  • Session Restriction – WordPress user login
  • You will be successfully logged into another device.
  •  Session Restriction – another user login successfully

  • If the concurrent session limit is exceeded then you will be logged out from the first device. You have received a session expiration message. Log in to continue where you left off.
  • Session Restriction – first user session expired
  • By clicking on the login button, you can enter your WordPress credential.
  • Method 2 – Follow these steps to set Session Restriction and disable access to a new logged-in user

  • Select the Enable Session Restriction Option check box.
  • Now, enter the number of devices that you want to be logged in simultaneously.
  • After clicking Disable access, a user will be able to log in, but all other active sessions will be terminated when the limit is reached.
  • Please click on the Save Settings button.
  • Session Restriction – disable access in user
  • We have successfully configured session restriction settings.
  •  Session Restriction – disable access configured successfully
  • By clicking on the login button, you can enter your WordPress credentials.
  • You have reached the maximum number of concurrent sessions then you won’t be allows logged. We recommend that you log out of another session or wait for it to expire.
  • Session Restriction – first user logout from another session
