How to Setup Authenticator Apps in the miniOrange Two-Factor Authentication plugin for WordPress?

Authenticator apps provide an extra layer of security through two-factor authentication (2FA). This guide helps you setup Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, FreeOTP Authenticator, Duo Authenticator, Authy, and LastPass Authenticator to generate one-time passcodes (OTP) for secure logins. You can use them for multiple accounts on Android and iOS, even without the internet.

After setting up the 2FA plugin, users are prompted to configure two-factor authentication methods. This includes the Google Authenticator method, which we will set on the default WordPress login form. (You can set it up on any other login form.)

  • Navigate to the Login page and enter the user’s login credentials.
